To me these are the first step in getting the manufacturing in North America as I am sure Yamaha did with the ATVs but I just received this for clarification:
- NO! Yamaha is STILL building snowmobiles in Japan!!
- And no, there is not a new manufacturing facility in North America. Yamaha is simply putting the people who can make decisions on North American soil, closer to the market where we can react quicker.

The new North American Snowmobile Division will take the lead in managing Yamaha’s worldwide snowmobile business, including product development, business planning, and marketing. The objective is to bring greater focus to North America by increasing speed of product development, improving coordination and efficiencies with industry partners, and better research and product planning decisions due to closer proximity to the market.

Look, I am not trying to argue with you at all Mr. Sled. I love my Yamahas, I bought a new sled last year, Yes, it wasnt a yamaha because I already have a true yamaha, And my true yamaha is the favorite sled I own. I was holding out for a true Yamaha, and it's not going to happen.
On the first bold, I agree and disagree, It's kind of a play with words. Yes they are still making Apex, Vectors, Phazers, and Vikings sleds in Japan, BUT there is no plans or new model sleds being built in Japan, correct???
On the 2nd bold, Closer to TRF as Yamaha calls them "their industry partner"
Look at the 2017 line up, 95% TRF mfg sleds, and that 95% is the best selling sleds. Not the best manufactured, but the best selling.

I can only post what is being said direct from the horses mouth. These other items being posted are all speculation with zero facts to support it..
I am not offended at all just baffled as to why the push for bad info when I am trying to show some clarity.

I am not saying we are NEVER going to see a new all Yamaha sled again. But in the near future, its going to be TRF sleds for a long while, the true yamaha sleds being built today in Japan are going to cease to exist in the near future and there are no plans to build a new model in japan in the near future. And as I said, No more Japan built sleds. Is it possible that they can build a North American MFG facility??? Sure. Will they do it for 4-6% of the market share???

Who are you and where is this info coming from?? If I was someone out there reading this... I would just laugh it off. I see you are all over every forum on the web telling everyone of the news thats not true. I would be careful with that..
As far as I am concerned if you cant show me the facts or where the info is coming from, your just another person pushing false information.

Im on 8-9 forums, and only posted in 2. I use the same screen name in all forums, And have been a member here and on most of them for a very long time, getting close to 10 years here. Im not one to hide. There is NO post of mine about this in polarisstarpower.com, freedomsledder.com, snowwest.com. trailconditions.com, snowmobileamerica.com, arctichat.com, or dootalk.com.
So you saying "I see you are all over every forum on the web telling everyone of the news thats not true." Is not true, and you only said that to make me look bad. If you can find a post of mine other than here and HCS please post a link
Shoot, look at the new "carbon patent", its a cat chassis, Anyone can see that. Where is that going to be made?? where is 95% of the yamaha snowmobile line made now?? Are they going to make the apex, vector, and phazer for another 10 years in japan with BNG and ship them over here?? Let's be realistic
Alls I said was Japan built sleds are going to cease to exist in the very near future and TRF is going to be building yamahas line up. I never said forever.
I also said Yamaha will be an engine supplier, well if they are not building the chassis, thats true.
I want a true yamaha sled.
When or If Yamaha were to buy 51% of Cat stock then can we finally call our sleds true Yamahas? All the ATV's and UTV's are made in USA and they are every bit as good as the Japanese made ones. Better actually since it USA workers making them and earning a living. Lots of benefits to making them here. I do have my Yamaha pride that's why I wish they would just buy Cat. Other than the 4 cylinder in Apex and the Phazer motor the rest can stay in Japan and even the 4cylinder needs the Crossplane crank. Yamaha has a lot to offer tech wise for the future of snowmobiles. They can see that if the sled works people buy. Frankly every Yamaha suspension and handling sucked for years compared to other makes of same years. Now with the success of the Viper they must know that. With USA management hopefully the RIGHT sleds are made.

Well I guess you made your point.. its all speculation and you know what?? you right you deserve to post what you think will be the future of Yamaha. Im done trying to explain. T
The worst of this announcement is Pleasant Prairie. Sure hope the best for all the people there and can't see losing it as a distribution point as being a good thing. Hopefully distribution will continue there. Minocqua,WI is great for testing but doesn't make much sense for distribution.

The distribution from my understanding will still be in PP. I am not sure where all other employers that handled snowmobiles are going. I know Wade West has left according to Facebook and an email that I received.

If Hilary win's then we will have a morphodite transgender Sled. LOL...... As long as the Engineering and Electronics are pure Yamaha I don't care who's chassis it has...BRING IT !!

Yamaha will never let there quality and technology go completely in the hands of AC. Just my thoughts, whether built in Japan or the States, Yamaha sleds are here to stay.

So with this venture Yamaha has established as of today officially, what does this mean as far as the Cat/Yamaha agreement currently in place, are they going to stay with Cat or carry on in their own research and development with designining and manufacturing their own sleds ?,Seems to me they have established a strong bond thus far in the game.
