I couldn't resist anymore. I took the fx out in the back yard today and did a few runs. I wasn't able to get up to speed, but take off is excellent. The skis came up with no effort. Needless to say there are a few bald patches in the grass now. Low end torque was very pleasing. I also found a nice little sticker for the back by the tail light (avatar). ;)! ;)!

I also just ran my GT on the grass. It surprised the heck out of me. This baby really has some low end. Pulled the skis way high and felt great. Power feels like a much bigger sled than a 500. Throttle response is unreal. This is going to turn some heads. Studded up this is going to embarrass a few of my buddies. Can't wait!!

Keep in mind guys that ALL sleds feel like they will pull your arms off on grass. You're not used to that much bite. I can do wheelies on grass with my Mom's Ski Doo Safari 377. Trust me, it doesn't pull your arms off on the snow :o| . OK, fire away. I probably deserve it. Seen any snow flakes yet???

i was just at my dealer yesterday.... he said that they actually found a cpl more HP when they went into production on the phazers than the ones we rode at demos... said they will hit 90 mph on the dream-meter.... keep in mind, it is still a 500 class machine, it will not beat alot of sleds in a drag race, but for the light nimble ride in the bumps... definately has its place....

next year i may add a phazer fx to our stable...

00 phazer 500
05 vector er
07 attak

i think it will fit in nicely....

If I anyone buys a Phazer thinking they are gonna go down to the lake and beat up on the big iron, good luck with that!
Still, its pretty amazing that they are pretty much able to match a 2-stroke in terms of power. If you had told someone 5 years ago that there would be a 500 4-stroke sled that was just as light as a 2-stroke and put out 80 hp they would have laughed at you and told you "dream on".
Its pretty amazing the level of technology that Yamaha is at compared to the other brands.
