Its take a good amount of time. Take good pics and notes the'll help when going back together. The T30 cap screws holding the chain case together have Blue Locktite on them and can be a beotch to remove i stripped two . This is a good time to do an oil change on both engine oil and chaincase oil. Even if you dont split the engine oil sump you still have to pull the hoses off the bottom and oil will go everywhere so make yourself a good oil catch. A good snowmobile lift is a must. There is a lot of moving parts in the chaincase so keep track of them

There are magnets on the end of the drive axle and there is a magnet on the slider shaft for the reverse....make sure these get wiped clean.
The strap idea Mtnviper shows works awesome! I do the same.
I suggest not separating the oil tank from the chaincase cover as you will need to re-goop the seal as there is no gasket. Better to remove the whole oil tank and chaincase cover together.
Watch the washer that goes on the outside of the upper reverse gear shaft. Usually sticks to the cover when removing and can end up in your oil bin.
When putting your reverse unit servo back on....1st make sure you take your finger, push the slider towards the inside chaincase cover. Take your reverse unit and install so you have to twist the reverse unit just a hair counter-clock-wise and then put your bolts in.

Don't forget to take a look at the top gear for wear.
