When the dealer looked it all over he said my slides needed to be replaced, now we had already looked at it,real close, and the wear was near the rear wheels where they all seem to wear, this sled came with duponts on it,and the track was bare never studded, but I left my scratchers on so he could see it may of been worse w/out them, slides have 3001 miles on the sled, only ran it this year for 43 total miles. And they were near perfect for 90% of the slides other than that little area,he said he has never seen that type of wear on any sled that came with duponts on before,so I knew that he would want to take 200 off the sled,or I would get them myself and install them, sense I took the sled back to the house,as he did not want it till next fall, when my sidewinder comes in,any one have a place to get these duponts for less than 80 bucks per side?

Just put basic sliders on and tell him to stick it, else you go elsewhere.
That was an idea, but I have already given him my 500 down, now I can stop payment on it,what do you guys think,he also added 300 more to what he had given my son a week earlier.

Which dealership is this? I would tell them to go pound salt.
Dealer in bangor maine,I will call him Tuesday when they reopen and see if we can get back to what was quoted me in the first place.

I bet they wouldn't even put new slides on it, and if they did they would just put std ones on. Ha

I also have the XTX with the tipped up rails , and I cant decide which Sidewinder track length to go with .
I think the tipped up , in the XTX is great . Especially with the Star kit , and hifax savers installed.
It is a 129 on the trail , until you hit the throttle , and when the skis lift the extra 7.5 inches , does its thing !
And off trail it is amazing , for what it is .
I am afraid with as much torque as the SW has , I will miss the 144 tipped .
Doesn't the tipped up concept still make sense ?
How did you decide on the 137 ?

I just feel the 137 is the in between track, and with its angle of attack from the track,a bit more speed, and still have some extra length for some smaller bumped out trails,as the longer tracked yamahas are faster than there 129 cousins,i wanted the fastest ones I can get.

Ya,now that would piss me off,but if I have them do it,it costa me 200 more.

I looked at the pics of the 129 , and the 137 , and you can really see the difference of attack angle
Is that just for off trail , deeper snow , so it gets up on top of the snow easier/ quicker ?
I also think that the SW could use a deeper lugged track ,for additional traction ,and are considering a 1.5 Ripsaw , or a 1.6 Ice Cobra , and adding 2 studs per section on either track .
I think on a head to head race , that by the time the 1.25 ripsaw catches up to either of my track options , it is a loooooooong way down Kevlar Lake .
I have heard that there is always a certain amount of slippage , at all speeds .
If that is true , and my track options have less slippage at all times , you may never catch me , even with your reduced weight and resistance .
I had a sled that I switched from the 1.25 to the 1.5 Ripsaw , and the difference was very noticeable , and made the sled quicker , but not faster , but not necessarily slower either .
Maybe there are others reading , that have real world testing of this track scenario , I am considering .
Every upgrade I have done on my Apex XTX , has come from what I have read on this site , and there isn't one change I wouldn't do again , in a heart beat .

I have heard that the apex 136 were as fast if not faster then their 128 counterpart on top end!

I have no first hand knowledge of this as others do. Had an rx1 and then many years later went back to that kind like chassis with an Attak but had a turbo on it !

I wonder if you should look at the same style chassis as sidewinder which is Viper?
What are they saying about top speed in a viper on the different track lengths?

I myself enjoy the better ride of the longer track but not the extra push in corners, so I am willing to go 137 but hope they are as fast on top end, but maybe not, I think they talk about the 128 when they say 122 GPS, right?

Be nice to get the deposit back and go to Woodys. They know their stuff @ service department too.

I am not sure if they are referring to the 129 or the 137 when talking about top speeds .
Is the 137 le , all about the 4 Kashima shock package ?
My only concern is that the Kashima 4 , can be made soft enough , if desired ?
So the attack angle of the 129 , is why they put an extra set of bogie wheels up front , that the 137 doesn't have ?
When I rode a 2015 Viper , I couldn't get it soft enough , but I hear they addressed that stiffness issue in 2016 , and further more in 2017 .
The sleds seemed to be set up very soft , all versions of Sidewinders at the sneak peak .
Not only up and down , but also side to side . Did anyone also notice that ?
