Hey I have a trail tank on an 09 Nytro I did not do the install onit but was done by a dealer before I bought sled first ride on it last weekend I ran out of fuel and the guage still had two bars!!!!! What cud be wrong? can I fix it or deal with it!! Thanks

hey stan! still unsure of that nytro or are you growing fond yet...

I believe you can take off the seat and the fuel sender and bend the float to adjust that but i'm not positive..

I ment to meet up at the bar Saturday night but ended up having a couple drinks at the club house and passing out when i got back to Saddleback. we put 250 miles on saturday and just under 500 for the weekend..

Mine does the same thing!!!!

You need to adjust the gauge. With the tank empty bend the arm such that when it is installed it is almost but not quite touching the bottom of the tank.

Also worthy to note that when the gauge is reading fully empty you will still see one full bar on the gauge.

I believe the directions that come with the tank says something about adjusting the float so your dealer didn't read the directions. It's an easy fix. Empty the tank, remove the seat and pull the pump. The float is hitting the bottom of the tank and the rod needs to be bent to shorten it. The fuel gauge reacts slowly to changes in the float position so it takes a bit of playing to get it right. I was more concerned with how much gas was remaining when the warning light came on which with the stock tank is around 1-1.5 gallons so I reset my float to that.

I consistantly get 14-15 miles per gallon so that works out to 140-150 miles. With the trail tank installed I've had the warning light come on only once at about 130 miles so I still had 1 to 1.5 gallons remaining.
