I have a 2006 Yamaha vector. Recently changed oil and had a warning light and oil light on dash i've change the oil many times and I've never had this problem in my 10 years of owning this machine. Oil tank got extremely hot to the touch and was foamy. Pull the dipstick and check the oil it was where he wanted it to be. Seems like the float inside of there was moving when I moved it up and down I could hear it any suggestions?

Is there an o ring or gasket that needs to replaced when removing?

maim is correct in that there is an o-ring on the pickup screen at the bottom of the oil tank that can be reused as long as its not nicked up and/or damaged. I too periodically check the pickup screen every other year when changing oil. The only exception was the oil change performed after the break-in period as I definitely wanted to clean/inspect that pickup screen.
