Hello
I inspected my driveshaft bearing on the secondary side and noticed it looked dry (4400 miles recently purchased sled) I'm trying to get the set screws out to remove the bearing, I got the set screw that faces straight down loosened but the one that faces the back of the sled I can't get to it. If anyone has done this before, is there a trick or do you have to remove the skid to get this set screw out? If I can't get it out I'll just have to repack the bearing from the front side and hope it works its way into the bearing. If I can get the bearing out I'm just going to replace it and the set screws for peace of mind.

^^^ Just spin the track. If you're going this far id recommend a new bearing. Chances are if its never been off, its not going to come off easy. With that amount of mileage its about time anyways.

Sorry I didn't think of that, how stupid! I did order a new bearing today and two new screws, I guess I'll try cleaning it as best I can and repack it so I can ride it this weekend.Spin the drive shaft...

Thanks again for the advice, I got the 2nd set screw out tonight and the bearing came right out with a minor amount of prying. I removed seals and the bearing was painfully dry, i sprayed with carb cleaner and cleaned out all hardened up grease, it spins free and doesn't seem worn. I'm gonna buy some axle grease tomorrow because I don't dare to pack it with white lithium grease. It should hold out for the weekend until the new one comes in. I can't believe the dealers don't stock any of these bearings.
