Im concerned about these skis and the handling...how are they different from the previous version and has anyone actually gotten these skis to handle well?

Same as the 2s but you can change the loop. With shapers inside and out they hold decent. I switched to curves last year though and will put them on every trail sled I ever own. My dad seems to like the tuners with the shapers though.

I had tuner 2s on my nytro and setup right they weren't bad but I never tried the 3s. the 3s are alot thinner than the 2s and I don't like the look of them

I dont mind them around home where the trails are harder and thinner but in the UP snow thats sandy and mushy . they are not my first choice.

tuners and 180+ hp = flying off the trail. Least that's how I see it. Curves for the win!

could you elaborate on the curves, how are they, on what sled, etc.. i am looking at them a lot.. vs the C & A razors too..thanksSame as the 2s but you can change the loop. not so,, i tried them on a 2016 ZR90o0 with 220hp and they were quit good , a little push but not that bad and not as hard to steer as the C & A's..tuners and 180+ hp = flying off the trail. Least that's how I see it. Curves for the win!

I ran them this year on my Viper LTX DX turbo. After reading about all the options on here I went with MrSleds recommendation and got the curves with slim Jim duallys. Steering is pretty light, no darting at all, and no push in loose conditions like I had with the tuners. A few friends tried my sled this year and all loved the skis. Most of them are switching over this year. If you search the Viper forum you can read for days about ski options for this chassis.could you elaborate on the curves, how are they, on what sled, etc.. i am looking at them a lot.. vs the C & A razors too..thanks

Hm on twisty trails with loose snow? Maybe at 20mph or leaning into the turn with your butt dragging the ground lol. I guess if they work for you then go with them. But from all the ski posts in the viper section most would beg to differ. Cruves have a lighter steering effort then C & A's. I can attest to trying the 2 back to back on 9000 turbos. I also found the C & A's to dart ALLOT more then the Curves.

Well , my experience has been more with the Arctic cat Chassis, but i think the viper is pretty much the same. I have had C & A's with slim jims and they pushed quite a bit in corners, so i am a little concerned with putting them on curves,... but from what i have read so far, i will definitly try curves next year...

push..dart...heavy...light...all after market skis require some chassis tuning...and with a dually carbide if you push....tuning is a must...until youve tuned for the ski...judgement should be reserved....this is why you get so many varying reports on skis and carbides...one guy can weigh 175 like me...another can weight 240..creating a totally different ski pressure scenario

I have the apex xtx 2015 with tuner 2 and shaper bars on,and never had them making me feel hooked every time I came into a hard corner,i just was not sure they would stick,so I just had to back down some, now with this new cat chassie,I can now put on the pilot 5.7 I had on my procross LXR that has 7" shapers, and work.Im concerned about these skis and the handling...how are they different from the previous version and has anyone actually gotten these skis to handle well?

Yes! Nothing ruins a ride more then always being worried about every corner you come to. It's hard to enjoy yourself always wondering when the time will come that the sled fails to hold that corner and you send yourself off into the trees, over the edge, or into an oncoming sled. I mean 1/2 the reason we ride Yamaha is for the comfort that things won't go wrong mechanically. Adding that feeling with handling in my opinion is worth just about any price. So buy Yamaha for the mechanical side and your aftermarket skis (studs, etc..) for the handling. It would be nice to make 1 purchase that does everything, but unfortunately it's not possible.

Tuner 3 ski my experience.
In Hardpack conditions (so like early morning, or steady cold temps with very little fresh snow on trails) ski handles great with a 4 & 4 or 4 & 6 carbide set up (woody's carbides)
In Loose, Fresh (anything over 4"), and heavy wet snow, Tuner tends to pack up a bit and will cause some pushing.
Pretty much like any ski it has its pros and cons, and chassis setup can affect handling as well.
Everybody has an opinion of ski, so it comes down to rider preference.
