tunnle closure thickness

I want to make my own tunnle closure kit but i dont know the thickness of aluminum to use. any one know?

.040 is what I got, which I think is the same as the tunnel

Even if you went thinner! suerly strength is not an issue? as it is open anyways.

I used .063 (1/8") - seems very close to same thickness as stock.

.0625 is 1/16 .125 is 1/8,i used 18 or 20 guauge

Go to local hardware store and get some aluminium flashing - light but more than heavy enough.
