Sent by accident...... Now running 8550-8600.Ive got a 16 LTX MPI with 1.25 with the old motor and Ulmer kit and stock 24/50 gears. Only got 102 mph so far and it really feels like its out of gears. Picked up 21/41 today and will be a few days now before I can try them.
Was only shifting at 8300 when new with 3-0-3 washers on weight arms. Now have 300 miles and 2-0-2 and running
Seem alot complaints about hitting a wall at 100mph?
I too dont know if i have the updated Ulmer helix? Can anyone send a pic?

Me? Stock Pink spring. No clutch machining and no washers under Helix. Clutches never open far enough for spring to bind. What secondary spring are you running?

Do you have any pics or more info on the new helix? This is the first I heard of it.I just gave a set of 21/41 gears to Bleedyamaha for his N/A 14 LTX and he is seeing 106 on level road your 170 kph translates to 106 mph which is very close with much taller gears so you are not getting full shift out. Your Ulmer kit did it have the new helix with the pocket machined to relieve spring bind?

Might want to try an arctic cat red/white, but you will probably have to add a little clutch weight. I've had good luck with this spring and similar hp sleds.

Sled had a 50/46 and losing top end even with the Yami silver wrapped tightly. Arctic red/white wrapped @40-50 degrees was badass top end and really didn't kill the up shift down low, had to add some tip weight tho

Trust me with that gearing you don't need the modified helix, your not even close to overdrive.

There is no difference between the old and new ulmer kits other then slightly different recommends 6-1 or 6-2 on the helix or maybe a gram diff on the sheets which would be the different tracks or lugs etc.
I like his kit and the adjusting is part of the fun, but it's only really fine tuning

Are you talking the 115 cat red/white or the 105 red/white titanium spring?
