As far as I have read only the Precision EFI fuel pump upgrade addresses the potential fuel starvation issue.

Thanks Bob. That’s not a cheap fix though! Maybe I should throw a bunch of small wiffle balls into the tank!As far as I have read only the Precision EFI fuel pump upgrade addresses the potential fuel starvation issue.

At our last snow drags my Winder acted like it starved for fuel on one of the heats I was in with 3-4 gallons of fuel or just under 1/2 tank. I too am looking for a solution to the potential to starve for fuel on hard acceleration but I am struggling with the cost as well.

Cut a hole on the top of the stock plate, install a factory gromet and elbow above the factory surge tank so the fuel returns there rather than the top of the tank. Then plug the return on top of the tank.
I wonder though if the stock pump is getting weak too?

I have installed the TD pump, but for the bigger tunes. I have run the sled with less than 3 gallons with this pump with no ill effects. What about trying to re-arrange/re-route the pick-ups first, like putting one in the back? Cheaper than buying a pump. The TD pump is pretty reasonable $$$ wiseView attachment 153146 Anyone install one of these? And does anyone feel this helps with fuel starvation/sloshing? Or this just increasing your pump capacity for bigger tunes. I’m only running powertrail and have no desire to bump up hp. But I have a fuel starvation issue for sure. Thanks.

A cheaper route if you dont mind a little wrenching , I bought a Walbro 190lph pump off Amazon and put it in for my max spool17 tune . Working flawlessly so far. Tomcat sells a kit using the same pump

The pickup is in the bottom of the can, simply reroute the return line the way mike said and starvation is a thing of the past. Your tune isn’t that big to require a larger pump. If you want to upgrade a walley 255 is probably the best option, $100 done.

Those two tubes extended forward are not the pickup, they are siphon tubes that use a small amount of fuel through an orifice to siphon fuel and keep the surge full.
I’m pretty positive Mike’s fix will work, but for peace of mind a bigger pump is a good idea. There are several pumps you could use let me try and get the part numbers for the walbro 255.

That’s not a real walbro pump, China knock off. Also there are different variations of the 255 and 190. You need the correct one

Ok it’s the walbro GSS342 configuration.
Beware there are many eBay sellers that claim they are walbro pumps, but they are not.

90 percent are not genuine. Also there’s two versions of the 255 pump, you want the high pressure version.

Says it’s good too 500hp but the bleed off from the siphon setup makes it good for around 400hp on our machines
