TURBO DYNAMICS fuel pump

I have a gs342 in mine, snug fit but works great. I did have to change one wire connector, if I remember correctly.

Is this pump mostly a drop in replacement or does some modding need to take place? This is much cheaper than buying a pump through yamaha. thanks for the link

Pretty much . I just changed the stock fuel line over to the new pump and connected the stock pickup. You can plug the stock connectors into the new pump but I wired in the walbro connector plug also bought for amazon when I bought the pump. Been running this setup all season with no problems on a TD Max spool 17 tune.
I have a buddy up in Wisconsin who’s very mechanically challenged and he was able to put the TD pump in LOL

Thanks for the info. We all have a mechanically challenged buddy lol

It’s not that hard to change. I will say that if you put in a bigger pump you really should put in a fuel pump relay and separate fuse that can handle more amperage. The stock relay is very small along with the wires.
On my viper the ISC fuse runs the fuel pump, and a host of engine sensors, not sure on the Sidewinder.
There really should be a separate fuel pump fuse anyway.

I bet super Dave could help with something like this? ;)!

Cut a hole on the top of the stock plate, install a factory gromet and elbow above the factory surge tank so the fuel returns there rather than the top of the tank. Then plug the return on top of the tank.

I wonder though if the stock pump is getting weak too?
Yes, that's the PEFI setup.

Here’s a picture of the stock relay and the heavy duty one I replaced it with. The stock relay is really only reliable for 13 amps. The replacement is good for 40 amps. The upgraded pump will pull around 15 amps under boost. Your really pushing the limits of the wiring and relay. I located my new relay right next to the pump hat, next to the battery. Short and easy wiring with a 20 amp fuse. Sealed 40 amp relays are very cheap, so it’s not a $$$ issue.

Hurricane recommends just putting in a larger ISC fuse but that’s the lazy mans option which resulted in this fuel pump connection melting. Not cool. I should have known better!

Anyone running a gss 342 with the stock fuel regulator? Any issues or is the regulator a must?
