Hey guys Hardcore here good to be back.Ok for the record I have been reading for two days now my head hurts and I feel like I`m ganno puke.So much info here on turbos turbos turbos..What I want to know is which one will work in the mtns the best.West coast mtns that is . I only ride mtns .If I missed some thing please send me the link :drink: With the canadian dollar so strong right now its not as painful to purchase one.But and this is the big but I want to make sure I get the right one. Mc express / bender / simons / lightning pro :o| front mount ,rear mount , intercooler , no intercooler etc.I have read alot and peeps seem happy with what they have but again its mtn riding I`m worried about. Lag no lag ,nos , no nos. what to do??? :o| :o| :o|

Just looking for some guidence, ease of installation etc. Must say the lightning one has my attention because it gets rid of all them carbs. Not the best looking setup of them(no offence guys) but if it works that s all that matters to me.It just looks the simplest and sometimes simple is better.(once again no offense guys just my opion)

anyway hope somebody gets though this novel .

thanks for any extra input

future turbo owner

I'm not sure if I want to go through this again. PM me if you have any MC specific questions.

OK Gentlemen, let the battle begin :flag:

I would recommend talking to the makers directly and making your decision from there. Heres a list of the phone numbers I have, anyone else who has them, please add to the list. Thanks...BBY

Simons CPR 414-698-6611 (Jeff Simon)
BPE 204-228-8251 (Jim Manning)
Bender Racing 585-937-6829 (Terry Paine)
Powder Lites (Contact Super Dave on this forum)
MC Express 203-756-7019 (Freddie Klies at ECP)
Lightning Pro 231-218-2395 (Fred Kilbourn)

You can also contact Greg at Northeast Turbos at 781-925-2300.

I would highly recommend contacting all of these guys and let them tell you the difference between there kits. Good luck in your search...BBY

Hardcore,

Welcome back!! I was starting to think you had left us for good.

Front vs Rear mount is a more heated debate than religion or politics here. That is why a lot of people will not comment publicly.

There are a lot of good kits starting to pop up. My opinion is that for the mountains a rear mount is the best. With proper tuning there is virtually no lag. It retains the stock fuel tank. It also keeps the extra weight off of the front.

It also keeps the heat out of the engine compartment. The fact is that in the mountains you are working your sled hard at low speeds. We do not have the benefit of the cool air that a flatlander gets by going accross a lake or down a trail at 90 mph. The rear mount kit keeps that heat out of the engine compartment and the charge tube running in the tunnel is about the best intercooler you can get. We mountain riders tend to run in deep powder. That powder constantly hitting the charge tube keeps things pretty good.

Thanks guys for the info.I know this is a touchy subject.Thats been rehashed many times but I just had to ask.Dam the bottle :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

Now wouldnt you want the weight up front for the mountains. I know the less weight the better but if you are going to have the weight would it not be better up front to keep the front down on very steep climbs which is what the mountains are all about.

PG Yamaha is the distributor for MCXpress. I believe Don has the RX1 kits in stock. The Vector kits aren't here yet and I understand the first batch are sold out. RX1 kit $6300 CAD. Vector $6000 CAD.

I ordered a simons cpr ,and a bender titanium at the same time , (the cpr for the warrior , and the bender for the mountain sled . I already have the cpr turbo in and running ....and don't have the bender yet .
They told me two weeks , and it's been five ,........ one excuse after the other "waiting on oil pumps"....."waiting on fuel pumps"......They said they'll ship it for sure today... I guess we'll see. When I get it installed
I am gonna post my comparison of the two kits after riding them for a while .The Simons cpr kit is a real kick in the pants ....Although I 've only got 30 miles on it so far. ;)!

Hardcore: Call the companies and talk to them. Form your own opinion about your purchase. Don't let biased opinions of a kit owner sway you.

If you've read all the posts then you probably already know what kind of turbo you want....Me thinks your just trying to stir the pot!

Not trying to stir the pot at all there ken_climb just wanted to get info from the guys who have them who ride the mtns. 90% of the guys riding turbos seem to be trail riding / lake racing I And I really don`t care if it goes good at 1000 feet on a frozen lake.I want to know if it goes good at 8000ft in deep snow is all .

Hell I will pm Mr.Sled right now to have this thread removed or locked and just pm the guys with them who ride mtns plus call the reps.
