Fact verse Fiction with Turbos

Bender uses the pitot tube method. I believe they are the only ones as well. Without trying to sound biased I think, in my experience I have found the MC rear mount superior to the Bender. Hammer, HAS's and Hornets, that was me.

How does the lag on a Bender stage 2 compare to the MCX?At the risk of sounding stupid....Whats a pitot tube and do all rear mounts use them?

My bender sled has an unacceptable lag to it . From what I hear the Mc express rear mount has less lag . However bender has an updated exhaust for theirs that sounds like it will work well . It will keep the lead eaxhaust pipe in to the turbo hotter which will cause faster spoolup . They say the new pipe is covered by another pipe ,and also has a muffler built in . Lookin forward to tryin it out.

That might explain why I keep hearing about all this turbo lag. It is very minimal on my MCX rear mount, you don't really notice it unless you ride a front mount, which has even less. No pitot tube om my MCX. I have never seen my turbo that glowing, although I have seen lots like that and it's quite normal. I like to think that the rear mount runs a little cooler due to it's location, I know it doest have as much ice & snow build up in the tunnel as a non turbo. :4STroke:

The rear mounts flat out have lag. If they didn't Bender wouldn't have built a front mount Drag sled.

The only way to reduce the lag is to move the Turbo closer to the intake. The closer the better.

Good choice of words : unacceptable. I m having a d@m hard time choosing between boon-diamond side mount and MCX.

Mcx has the fuel injection system dialed - That's the most important thing to me .

pre-wedding-jitters!

Is there any other drawback to a rear mount besides lag?
I think thats a non issuse with the new system .

I've seen unacceptable lag in front mounts too, because of clutching.

I've heard it from both Dave forsyth/powderlities and Erik Marklund/MCX words:

And finally, one of the most important things: The clutch on a snowmobile makes the turbo lag "disappear".

You may have to take away from peter/primary and give to paul/secondary to come up with the same end results, to give the bottom end more response.

good point about keeping the rear end warm, less snow buildup which offsets some of the 22lb. exaust weight reduction from bd kit.

I'll put it this way. I am a Mountain rider and after riding a front mount and an MCX rear mount, both same time, same place, same conditions etc. I am that worried about lag that I ordered another rear mount.....go figure. If it was a drag sled then I would most likely have ordered the front mount. :ORC

I'm a Mt. rider to,

"Track speed." that doesn't run into a brick wall.

I think thats where all the confusion comes in.

Flatland drag racing is more suitable for supers .

Boost it you ever heard of a guy by the Name Donnie Williamson?

He is a Jackson hole hill climb champ. He is also a dealer for Lightning Pro.

His number is 208-852-3734.

Give him a call he will be able to give you great Turbo information. He's owned ever kit out there with the exception of the CPR.

Has anyone been running a Bender system in the mountains?I am trying to decide if I should pass on the Bender and get the MCX.I am understanding from the posts that the MCX works quite well with an acceptable amount of lag,I like some of the rear mount features as opposed to front mount so I want to get the rear mount,I have found a really good deal on a used Bender, but if its not going to work well Ill spend the xtra$$ and get the MCX.Oh ya,its on a RX1,not Apex, thanks

Was looking at turbo kit pics and it looks like the Bender doesnt use a wastegate or BOV,could this contribute to lag

no it's purely lactation. You should call Donnie as well. As I told Boost it he's super knowledgeable!!!
