I bought a used boost controller and the guy said it had the ball and spring removed, what does that do? Also how much does it increase boost, 1 turn = ?lbs. more. thanks.

With the spring and ball removed it will not do anything good, air will run straight thru it to the wastegate, no adjustability without the ball and spring.

You can remove the ball and spring and still adjust your boost. The only reason to remove the ball and spring is if you have a boost spike so if you want to run 10lbs and the gauge goes up to lets say 14 then back down to 10 you have a boost spike then you remove the ball and spring my sled has a little boost spike but not to bad I do run a turbosmart contoller and that is what the paper work says hope I can help.

Wrong about that rxrider. Controller is still fully adjustable without ball and spring. The metered bleed function works as per normal. Removing the ball and spring removes the signal delay feature but is necessary because the ball will stick periodically due to moisture and totally block the port causing overboosting (no air signal what so ever to wastegate actuator.....max boost).
