Yesterday, it rained hard all day, and really caused some serious damage to the trails.
This morning, it started off raining, and 25 minutes ago, 1:30 pm, it has turned over to snow. Come to find out it, was only a squal. Hopefully the real snow will be here sometime tomorrow afternoon.
The approaching storm forecasts have varied from 3 - 18 inches of snow.
At this point, I will settle for anything.
The Fort Kent groomer's have said they will groom if we get a sufficient amount of snow. I'm sure other clubs will groom, if conditions permit.
I departed around noon today, just to ride to the end of Eagle Lake. The total round trip distance was about 35 miles.
All the ice fishing shacks should be off the lake by the end of the day. Today is the deadline to have everything removed.
The riding conditions were sloppy, slushy, and water is starting to pond up on the lake.
The end of Eagle Lake, looking West.
My intent was to jump on the trails today, but couldn't bring myself to drone away in the poorest of conditions.
To date, I have completed 8,440 miles for the season, and the TY Mileage Fun Contest.

Bob,
I just read through all your entries, this is really nice Thanks. I was at almost all of these place this year. Do you usually do this every year? Boy I wish I could put that many miles on in a year. I hope you get the snow up there that we are suppose to get tonight. I sure would like to do one or two more rides this year.
Thanks again for all the information

Thanks Doug,
Appreciate the acknowledgement.
This TY Mileage Fun Contest, is new this year. It's not all about miles, it's also about the rides.
So, I decided on a 3 part theme, and show case riding, and provide some examples of the stops, and services available in; "The County", New Brunwick, and Quebec, Canada.
As we get into this transitional weather period, I'm going to show the day to day variations especially as this late East Coast storm approaches, and as I ride through the month of March. This time of the year is a big variable when it comes to riding.
It's been fun putting this little presentation together. It's not over yet.
This years miles should bring my average up to around 7,000 miles a year.
I am also interested in the "4 stroke evolution". The reliability, and durability of this Yamaha RS Venture, is remarkable.
Today, I went back country riding with my buddy in the Allagash. At Chamberlains Store. The lady behind the counter mentioned that the Allagash was forecast to get 12"- 22" plus of snow. Yahoo...
I'll settle for whatever. Hope it's a big number though.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks Swiss Sledder,
Glad you enjoyed it. You never really know how your ride is going to unfold. That is part of the excitement!
Thanks no4smoke,
Many people plan trips to Northern Maine, and Canada.
If you come up give me a call, I'll ride with you.
This year has been so unusually bad for most all areas.
I ask myself what is normal?
For example: In Northern Maine, this year we have received only half (60 inches) of our 120 inch annual average snowfall.
So many others have had even much less snow.
My feeling is it will turn around, and we will begin to see some normal cycles again.
Let's hope!
Thank you again for your interest, and acknowlegement. I have enjoyed putting this together.

Bob,
We didn't have a lot of snow this year but I think the riding up there was better this year than last year. They have done a great job groomer with what snow they had. the week we was up was really great. I hope to in at least one more ride this week end. I usually put on around 4,000 mile in the two week I take off but this year I only took one week off so I only have about 2,000 miles on my new RTX. Looks like my RX1 won't get many miles put on it from now on because I love riding the RTX. Thanks again for all the pictures and updates. I hope you do it again next year. I still will be checking your log.

Thanks for the offer 151tf,
Wow, what a long season you have.
One can never have enough places to ride. LOL...
Tomorrow my goal is to hit 9,000 miles, and surpass 21,000 for RS Venture.
Despite the fair conditions here, I've enjoyed working on this project.
Glad you enjoyed it, and Thank You for the acknowlegement.
