TY Munising First Annual Do-it-in-Dirt Ride...Oct 8th.

Wow, I have only had mine since just before Labor Day and I've got almost 1,000 on it since I got it. You must be working too much:dunno:

Way too Fricken much and I cant ride out of my house. I also work 2 jobs and projects in the shop ..

Yeah, I guess we are spoiled when we can jump in Sunday and ride for food a town or two away. Easy to get the miles when you can put 80 on it every time you go out.

Be sure to pack some warmer clothes than what you've been into so far.....forecast is for highs only reaching the mid-50's........not cold but a LOT cooler than what it has been even up here......also possibility of a few showers early Sat....

Also keep in mind that you'll need to study these MVUMs........as an example, west of Chatam a lot of the trail is on private land and is gated off after the first of April.....need to find alternate route(s) if going that way......most of the trails in the National Forest are same as snowmobile......

Another newsflash: rumor has it someone bought the Village Inn (Chatam Pub) and is working to try to have it back open for winter......they were actively working on it last Thurs. when we went to Marquette....

Not sure on the need for extra fuel. My Maverick is a lot like riding a sled. I can go 80+ miles running hard before I need to think about fuel. Not sure what kinda mileage the ATV guys get, but we will run fuel stop to fuel stop like riding with 2 stroke sleds and 4s Phazers

My Raptor will run out around the 50 mile area so I'm a little concerned...........But it shouldn't be a problem, I just don't want to be towed, but chit happens!!!!!

I'm still not sure if I'm coming, but this could be funnier then a snowmobile trip!!!!!!!

I second this. My group found this out the hard way on my bachelor party this year. Beware also the Munising trails are HORRIBLE this year for they have had no maintenance this year by the looks of it. I lived in the up for 15 years and I haven't seen these trails this bad ever. If you take the trails from the north it was rumored to us that there is a giant mud hole trucks are getting stuck in and the trails to the south and then west are the washboard trails that my group took. If you guys hit up chatam I recommend just taking the side of the highway as much as you safely can to avoid the gates as much as you can. There is no warning signs about gates and they have 6ft berms on each side of them with no room to turn around. Hopefully all my information will help you all have a fun and safe ride!!

Edit: The Hiawatha forest trails are AMAZING!!! Just watch out for cars since some of it is mix traffic roads.

I had no idea you were even stopping over. We rode all day, stopped in at bar for a couple and all 7 of us piled in Wills truck and went to dinner and then stopped at the Casino. Back at 1/2 Pint by 10:30.
