if you go from 0 to - 10 on the fi you will give it less fuel in the pilotjet range. we have to do that when installing a turbo. the last one i sat to - 25 and it worked really good

i have the FIX lid , and a wideband air/fuel guage so i tested both ways with the lid on and off, with the stock lid on i was way rich set the fuel at -5 now with the Fix its at +1, I also have the Boondocker fuel manager so i was able to dial it in across the board,, in the mid range i added fuel and on the top(10500) i removed fuel,,, hope this helps.. but keep in mind guys that not all sleds are the same,

I agree things stock were rich.....I didnt really have any stumble at bottom end,and I beleive ON MY SLED its cause of my HI engagment proline clutching,so I think im above that 'stumble' point in the rpms....
I did add mine to +10,but I have a feeling I will end up putting it back down to around +2 to +4 range.....
Id love to have the boondocker to remove some intop.....what do those cost anyhow?..have you seen some nice gains on the gun with it leaned down some?..did it need leaning on top end even with the airbox mod?

After installing the Ulmer airbox mod along with the plugs I noticed a definite hesitation on the jack stand when blimping the throttle. I ended up jumping the enrichment to "10" and this seemed to clean her up nice. In the field testing may find this still needs further finetuning.
I am most interested if anyone has actually run this mod to see if they gained any performance gain vrs there stock setup the claimed 5-7 hp gain for both mods should show some performance gains ... anyone ???

I did the air box mod and the plugs from Ulmer. Is there a gain? Yes!!!!!!!!!
Can I tell you how much? No, My sled is quicker, much quicker than before the mod and plugs. All I can say is, cheapest money ever spent for speed. No bog, just goes

I would say yes too. I don't have Allens kit, but I have the same concept that I made myself at the beginning of the season that seems to work really well. I have a Hauck controller which I had really richened up so I think it will get even better once I pull some fuel out of it. I noticed a definite bog down low. I added some fuel and it was great. I also added fuel to the mid range and top but I think it was unneccesary. I did it as a precaution because of Hauck instructions. Which by the way are junk. With there recommended setting, it ran like garbage, and got 90 miles before I was out of fuel. I just put it back to stock settings for fuel and will richen it up on the pilot by 1 or 2 positions on the Huack accelerator. Should work well.
I will say this, my first ride with this mod, my sled ran side by side with another Apex in our group with Hauck exhaust, polaris primary, and a team secondary. He probably had me by 30-50 lbs. We were tied together from 0-105mph. This was on low snow/trail like conditions, and I THINK he might of had a 1" track with 1.325 studs. My sled was BONE stock with this little mod. That day I had the main jet richened up +4.5 to start the day. The same Apex mentioned above would get me by 1-1.5 lengths. At lunch, I backed the main off to +3.5 and ran right next to him the rest of the day. I never tried going any leaner than that. By the looks of this, I am going to run the main at 0, and will monkey with the low and mid as needed.

Hi guys, I have been reading your posts, when you mean stumble off the line, it happens to me once in a while but usually when I am coming off of 3/4 to full throttle into a corner, letting off and punching it again, once in a while the machine wil bog (blah blah) then go again. If I go into the settings which way shoul I go?
thanks

I think the factory mod they are referring to here is a pilot jet setting. Not sure it will do much from 3/4 to full throttle. That is more of a needle and or main jet setting. Are you running stock clutching? What is your secondary set at. If the secondary is to soft you will get a lazy spot in that condition.
Any more results?
Also is the AirBox mod worth the $150.00? I know Ulmer Racing have good reputation but would like comments for actual users.

Re: efi tuning
You guys need to sort out your lingo... stumble and bog are 2 different things, stumble usually a rich condition and a bog being lean. ir is not clear which you are actually referring to.
