UPDATE!!! 2009 NY TY RIDE Jan 21-24th!!!

Hey Guys! Sorry I had to miss the ride. I blew the exhust gastkets, and after I got that done, I was a little nervous about runnin to far. The stealer claimed they had some come back the very next day., because the head bolts loosen up. I followed the advise on line here, and all seems well! used some ultra copper on all boltsand gaskets. But anyway, somthing has been up with logging on? Would not let me on for days. It kept sayin" Error,can't find web site, what would cause this?

Honk, regarding the exhaust gaskets/donuts, the reason they were probably coming back the next day is they were not repaired properly. Along with changing the donuts, you either have to replace the exahust clamps as they stretch out after time with the heating and cooling they go through. Or you have to grind 1 or 2 thousanths off the clamp collar spacers so the clamp closes properly and keeps the flanged end of the header pipes tight against the donut and flex pipe. If the clamps are left as is, it will just cause the donuts to go bad prematurely again.

Guys, I hope you had a great time. I miss the rides, but wouldn't have made it this time, even if I had wanted to. Came down with the flu on Friday and have been feeling like crap since. Don't think I would have been comfortable with your 200 mile days with my head crammed into a brain bucket.

Missed ya on the ride Boom!! Hope you are feeling better. Hopefully you can make the next ride down by RX1-Man. If not, we can hook up in O.F. for a ride. I will be up there this weekend (Fri-Sun) with the wife. Let me know if you will be there this weekend. We're staying at Water's Edge.

Steve, they told me the head bolts backed out. They did not use lock-tite, or silicone on them. I have run a bunch of miles since my repair, and have had no probs. Musy be ok. Talk to ya Honk
