I recently had a starter relay problem on my 09 Nytro. After talking with a fellow TY'er I found out there was an update to a sealed unit. I ordered a new relay for a 2011 Nytro only to find the plug on the top between the two fuses is different. :o| The new relay has a male top plug that takes a female plug off the wiring harness. How are you guys making this work or did I order the wrong part? Is there a plug in the aftermarket that I could get my hands on? :dunno:

When i got mine, it came with a new holder but was still a male, and the harness is a female.

mine was 8HG-81950-09-00 as well

i should say this is the fuel pump relay i replace not the starter relay, no problem with the starters far as i know, just the fuel pumps wouldnt kick on due to frozen relay. Maybe this is why you are having problems?

I had problems with mine every time the sled was cold.I got a new one,not the updated one though because the plugs are diffrent and all you do is put some di electric grease on and you will never have a problem.Thats what they should have done from the factory and its too late to put it on there after becauuse the majority of them already have moisture in them.
So just buy a replacement and put the grease on.

I put a little Truck-Lite anti-corrosion compound on the starter relay plug and added a boot over the top of the relay to help shed water. The boot came off a Yamaha Grizzly 660 head light housing.

So you just ordered the 8HG-81950-09-00 and were able to use it?
