I hope this helps someone out there and eliminates or lessens any frustration/hesitation on doing it yourself. Please note that I didn't change the oil filter this time around; only the engine oil. :)

that was a very good post there. I actually did not know know where my chaincase drain plug was; I could of used this post a few weeks back for the engine oil. Thanks!
 
You know what a lot of us do? Remove the fill plug on top of the engine to help the oil drain better and then put a quart of fresh oil down the same hole. One quart on top, two in the tank. Then start and check the level.
