i have an 06 apex rtx/er,11,800 kms

i purchased ext.warranty

1 week ago today,the secondary clutch came off the jack shaft,smashed

into the primary clutch and also damaged the cowling

yamacanada was not going to cover this under warranty

the warranty states exactly that bearings are noy covered

this problem occured due to bearing failure

the jack shaft didnt just break it melted the shaft where it broke (bearing

must have been hooped for a while-major friction)

is yamacanada obligated to warranty this problem?

I'm no expert but I don't think so. You say the problem is a result of a seized bearing (wear item). It seems the failure was a result of improper maintenance not a production defect.

Was there a pre season inspection done on this sled by any yammy dealer? when was the last time the track was changed? if it was was it changed by a dealer if so you should have been advised that the jackshaft bearings were to be changed at that time. But if all you have done was ride this thing without any mainteance yea then your #*$&@ outta luck dude.
