- 07 Apex RTX se, 09 Nytro XTX
yammiman said:My guess is even if they did have something up their sleeves for this year, they held off so dealers could unload all of the 09's (and even 08's) that they are sitting on - if they would have brought out a 150hp Nytro, they would be sitting on current stock for a long, long time!!!
Na man, now they are sitting on more newer models of their current stock! With a higher price tag, DUH, what were we thinkin'?

I HAVE FIGURED OUT WHY THEY DID COME OUT WITH ANY BIG CHANGES FOR 2010 THEY SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY ON THE VIDEO NEXT YEAR THEY SHOULD JUST SKIP THE VIDEO AND PUT THE MONEY IN R&D BY TALKING TO US LOYAL CUSTOMER TO FIND OUT WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE

Prices are pretty steep, XTX went up by 600.00, as well as the rest of the line up, I must say the black is smokin and the moutain sleds are pretty sick with new rear susp. but I agree that its a little bit of a let down, at least I dont feel outdated allready! One nice thing is I can get a black seat for my Nytro now!

As an owner of two '09 XTXs? Little change to the '10 model is great news. I got hurt by Yamaha's late season $1500 rebate, not that they had any choice. That my sleds have not been made obsolete is good news. If Yamaha can clear out '09 inventory and stabilize '10 prices, I benefit.

I guess my 07 apex rtx is outdated now. Nothing new and wow to me to get rid of my boosted apex.

That goes for all OEM's... They have this model since 06. They had plenty time to start clearing out.

Maybe they need a bail out...
I would have went to the dealer today if they had a 150HP Nytro.
Or a 180HP+ Apex.

My last 2 sleds were a Firecat 700 and a Machz 1000. I went to the 40th Nytro and I love the sled. I miss the power I had with those sleds and like you all, I was hoping they would step it up with the Nytro and Apex. Saved me a pile of money! Still not impressed. What the hell is a Orange Nytro? Cool colors but be original. Cat stole that orange years ago. We all don't wear FXR gear! Bomber going to release a turbo I can feel it. And yet again they stay on top of the sales. If cat releases that racing chassis in an 800 firecat, I'm jumping ship again.

I woulda done the same thing. Looks like I'm not getting a brand new Yamaha. The Z1 turbo or 1200 Doo is looking mighty tempting now.

Wow...Every year I get more and more impressed by the amount of forum users hyping themselves almost into a flatspin, then venting their disappointment with all kinds of threats about switching brands. Honestly, what did you expect...? A space shuttle...? If you are that disappointed, then go get that low-tech industrial piece of shite engine, there is actually a lot of people here that could not care less...
The rest of us, that actually took the time to read the spec sheets and look at the pictures, think about it for a while. The updates to the mountain segment are not that bad. A new tunnel design and a completely new skid design that has got very little to do with previous versions but very many similarities to some of the premium aftermarket options. The MTX is suddenly THE mountain sled to have, or at least the perfect base for a proper mountain mod. But I guess there is too many flatlanders here to really care...?

Probably a true statement.
I could care less about mountain riding.. there are none here.
To me, when we go goof off in 3' of powder, it's fun for about 10 minutes.. then I get the need for speed again and want to rip down a trail. Riding up and down hills.. again.. fun for a few minutes... then boring.
Probably why they make different sled for different riders.
I am looking for a new sled.. Yamaha didn't make what I am willing to spend money on. I have no idea if the other OEM's have either yet.
If one of them does.. they get my money. If nobody does I have 2 choices.. pick the best out of the 2010's or keep my Attak and spend more money on trying it to get it what I need a sled to do (do not think it's possible with an Attak though).
