Wow! This is coming from a whole bunch of people who love thier Yamaha's and there are not many good things to say. No matter what they come out wiht I still believe, Yamaha has the best sled on the morket today! I have been riding Yamaha for YEARS and I have never been stranded on the trail by one of thier sleds. How many other Sleds do you see being towed off of the trail? I could always drive my Yammy home. I bought my sled with plans of having it for years and with a few minor upgrades, it is fast enough for me but more important, Dependable!
Great job Yamaha! Keep up the good work and I will be supporting you for a long time!

Yamaha---just like Toyota, easin back, thinking everything will keep selling--they build the best product .......yada yada
Guess what, the world is moving much faster than their out of touch board room. Next year's sales will be way behind their main competition,
ie. Bombardier, and I will be one on the many buying a new DOO vrs another outdated Apex or Attack.
And just for comparison, owned both the Nytro and XR 1200, and in my opinion , the XR blows it away.

Well thought I would stop by for the Yamaha traditional new model rant. I thought Vector LTXGT sliver & white looks really great with new 120FI engine should be sweet trail sled. If doo does intro MXZGadeX with 4tek turbo I would have to take close look but doo has had so many other XP recalls it makes me nervous. I purchased 07 Attack GT for a staying power & Yam has nothing I want more than what I already have. Is this a good thing? Even came back to black.

While this was probably done to clean out inventories at the dealers, the big question is what will this do for their market share position. To some extent it depends on what the other manf. come out with - but this surely won't help! How many 2010's does Yamaha expect to sell at these prices when you can go out and pick up the same sled with different decals for 3000-4000 less! Your right Yamaha - you surely don't have to worry about Spring sales - it will be non-existiant!!!!!

Like the little Japanese factory rep once said,
"Same as last year"
Don't wanna say, "I told you so, but...."
Ive been hearing this stuff since the
original SL-350 and SL-351

I like the improvements to the mountain Nytros! All to often the mountain sleds are an after thought at Yamaha, it's good to see they got some attention this year.
Also if the new hand warmers work, then they fixed THE major complaint from Yamaha owners.
I wasn't expecting big changes, with the ecomony in a slump. In fact I dont think you'll see big changes from the other manufactures either. Just a sign of the times.

Basically we are getting back to how things were in the 80's. Anyone remember how few sleds were sold every year and when a new model was released it was a HUGE deal. Since the 90's we've become accustom to a new chassis every few years and a new model every year. The bad thing about all the new stuff is it makes your sled obsolete.
I'm not surprised by the lackluster line up but I'm shocked by the prices! I can't believe how much sleds are going for in '10. I see the higher prices causing fewer people to buy new sleds which reduces the OEM's desire to release new models and it becomes a vicious cycle. Anyone remember how long Polaris produced the Indy chassis? I'd rather Yamaha improve what they have then keep releasing new chassis that have problems that we all end up fixing on our own.

In my eyes here are the new models for the last 10 years, 2002 Viper, 2003 RX-1, Vecter, Phazer, Apex, and Nytro. Other than those models it's only been small differences, (shocks and track options). That dous'nt qualify as a new sled to me.

I bet in two years when a new model is released every one with the "reliable" source will be coming out of the wood work trying to say "I told you so"
X2 I wonder where Mr Knapp is,Oh I know he's on another site complaining about his BRP and AC.Makes me laugh

90% of the people on here are about as loyal to Yamaha as a hooker on Jarvis!

Oh, I believe Yamaha has an Apex replacement, but just decided to hold it back. My bet is it is because of economic times. They might be just looking to make sure there a least amount of bugs in this sled, compared to the ones that plagued the Apex. My gut tells me it is economics, but the economy is not getting any better. So do we have to wait another 3-4 years before we get something new like how Yamaha ran their snowmobiling department in the 90's? I sure hope not. What we need is Honda to build a sled, because it's really the only comapny that seems to motivate them enough to light a fire under their butt and start R&Ding new product.
I was told in December that a new Apex was coming with 175hp from a good reliable source, then in talking to them 3 weeks ago, it was BNG.

I agree Sled freak ..I think Yamaha has a replacement but due to the times might hold it back a year ...It' takes them 2-4 years of R@D to put a sled into production = alot of money....Why put it out there when the dealers aren't selling the older models..I really don't care what they came out with for 2010 because I can't afford to buy a new one anyways....

I'm right here right arm, I can't help Yamaha didn't bring out the big sled. That is not my decision. It's is there trust me. And I'm getting my new turbo Cat dialed in very nicely, Thank You. had Yamaha released the 180 machine, I'd have purchased one for next season. As it is, the Cat will be all ready to go.
