Replaced front end bushings with oilite's while waiting for a starter. The magnets came off the case in the starter and toasted it.

Stopped at a Yamaha dealer yesterday and picked up two tubes of their Hi-Perf grease. Gonna grease the sleds tonight.

This week I put on new rails, bc I bent my old ones, then blew a plug, put in new plugs, and next day I busted my track, bc my from rail plastic cover came off, and the rail went out through the window, so i order a new power claw 2.25 track, wahl Bros anti stab kit with the four wheels, and two new limited straps.

Fired up the Attak and took my son for lunch at an A&W that has trail access.

Changed the oil, shimmed secondary clutch for the new style xs805 belt, getting ready for a trip next week! I had to remove all shims from the secondary for the new belt. The old 805 belt could be ran tight with 1 small and 1 large washer. The new belt is wider, perhaps a bit shorter, too. Completely different.

Thanks to all the great members who freely give helpful tips here on TY, I was able to figure out where 2 spacers on my 2006 Attak chaincase went. After buttoning that up, got the jackshaft locked into place, installed a new AGM battery and installed my new Rockmeister's HID kit. All I have to say is WOW to that HID kit. It is 100% plug and play and one of the best purchases I've made for my sled.
On top of that, thanks to Travis at Barn of Parts, we were able to fix my brother in laws 2006 Apex reverse and bent A arm. Both sleds are nearly ready to run on the snow.
Now if it would only SNOW in CNY!!!
Might need to sacrifice one of the sleds to the snow gods and do the snow dance. It is January 17th and I have green grass showing.

As the leader of the pack last Saturday I broke thru what looked like a safely iced over mudhole. Went in nose first up to the grab bar but managed to gun it out of trouble and wave to the others not to follow.
I spent last night cleaning up the sled and greasing everything...it was an effin disaster! Ready to go for the weekend romp!

Well, nearly 24 months after I bought my 2006 Attak, my overhaul is complete. Wish I would have had it done for the epic snow last year, but due to life getting in the way (kids sporting events and my father-in-law spending 6 months in the hospital it was not in the cards. I got the sled for a good price knowing it had a few small issues. When I finally got everything apart, there were other issues that were not easily visible or were borderline ready for replacement. Here is the mostly complete list of work and parts replaced:
Shock rebuild by Bruce at Pioneer
Barn of Parts Bulkhead Saver
Barn of Parts Rail Stiffeners
Muffinworks Tunnel Supports
Ulmers Oilite bushing kit
Track from Barn of Parts
Rockmeister HID Lights – WOW are they bright
Chaincase oil change
Oil and filter change
New hyfax
New bearings
New Snowtrackers
New AGM 20 series battery thanks to @RIGIDONE
New red fuel pump relay
Big boy spring
Replacement rail heat exchangers from @4Fighter
New track tensioner hardware and rear axle from @Roadrunner
Replacement idler wheels from @Roadrunner
Various other wear parts replaced – sliders on W-arm, nuts, bolts, clips
Took it for a rip around the yard yesterday and I have to say I am very happy with it. The 136" track is a nice change from the 121" I rode previously.
A HUGE thanks to everyone on TY who helped make this project a reality. Without some of the guidance and suggestions the TY members, I could not have gotten the repairs and upgrades done.
