What helmet do you use?

Try the Polaris AF-1 helmet. it's very warm and for the first time in 23 years my wife is happy with fog free vision. She wears glasses and has always fogged them up, but not anymore. I have tried everything out there in the last 23 years to keep her from fogging. We have been the electric shield route, used no fogs(which worked good for me) she even went to contacts but her shield still fogged up so she would have to ride with the shield partially open and that would dry out her eyes. I have the Bombardier modular and it doesn't fog but it can get very cold as mentioned above. I also use a snocross helmet, but she would not try that. The AF-1 works plain and simple, she doesn't even for her glasses anymore. Gene

Everyone, thanks for the replies. I think this is an excellent post for anyone wondering what a good helmet is. A lot of great opinions. It's obvious that what works for one person doesn't mean it works for another.

Ultimately, I think I will have to try and borrow a few different styles of helmet and just see what works for me. Please keep the opinions comming though. This is definitly steering me in the right direction.

I'm no Slim Pickens myself, I probablly go 280 fully dressed and probably breath a little heavier as a result. Comments from our member big boys are greatly appreciated as well as those who have had experience in -20F or colder temps. That's where I really had a problem this past weekend. Still to cold here to see if my shield or power to it quit. Supposed to start warming up Thursday. Had -29F on the way to work this morning!

Thanks for all the comments, keep them comming!

I just bought a BRP Modular 2. Best helmet I've ever owned. I also have the electric visor but I don't think it is needed.

I agree with BallsCasten and Darenello and the others.

BV2S is my favorite helmet by far. Light, quiet, warm, great visibility, the amber flip down sunshade. Over all, probably helps me to be a more focused safer rider.

I bought three BVS2 helmets last year. One for my wife, my son, and myself. I have the communicators on them and everything has worked and performed 100%. I guess it goes to show, we yamaha people only buy the best!

BV2S.....the best brain bucket period!!!! (make sure it says BRP and not Bombardier) all the updates are only on the BRP one

What updates have the made?

Lots, new seals, new foam, new nose piece....the old ones did fog up, the new ones 100% do not.

For example today its -20 here, you lock that shield close and ride the whole day with no fog....also its a very warm helmet. almost too hot on warm days.....double lens visor design has the best peripheral vision I have ever seen

Test one for a day and you'll never go back.

An orange A&W toque with an extra-long scarf wrapped around the mouth and tied off at the back - make sure you have lots left over to flap in the wind cuz chicks dig that. If you must wear goggles you can get them at Canadian Tire in a nice yellowish shade for 4 or 5 bucks. Or on a really cold day replace the toque with one of those hard hat winter liners and you are not only warm but quite stylish as well. Best part about the liner is that when you stop for a smoke & a beer you can flip it up over your ears and not miss the sparkling conversation with your riding buddies.

i had an agv blizzard that was great never had fogging issues and i recently got a new MODULAR 2 brp helemt thats also very good.. quick question for those who run with the mx style helmet... do u stay warm becuase i was thinkin about goin that route but it gets really cold (-20 F) where i ride

I have been wearing a Ski-doo modular helmet since they first came out years ago. I have worn them in all kinds of conditions over the many years I have had the helmets. They don't fog. The best ticket is too get a heated shield for the very cold days and warmer freezing precip days. On the really cold days they provide a type of face mask that attaches to the fighter pilot mask, this keeps your face really warm. I would highly recommend!

i've been using an avg blizzard (modular) for the last few years and i love it. It has a little mask that takes your breath out the helmet (like a fighter pilot's helmet) and i've never had it fog or leak air inside through the seams. they've came down quite a bit in price too i think i paid $90 for the one i just bought my wife a few months back new on ebay

I wear a Polaris modular with a heated faceshield. I like it. Its warm, comfortable and doesnt fog up.
Id look at getting a new Snoforce modular with a heated faceshield if it were me.
