what should I look for while buying an 07 MCX attak?

My dealer has just installed an MCX turbo in new 07 Attak. I’m thinking on picking it up, but would like some insight on what I should check before hand. It has everything that comes with the latest kit from what I understand. I'm wondering if there are still any issues with cracking headers, fuel management.. etc? Anything I should check in the install quality? I’m looking for a trailable reliable turbo to run on pumped fuel and will run the sweet stuff if I turn up the boost.
Thanks for any input….

Did your dealer install the stainless headers???Has he done the clutch kits??? Does the sled have a boost guage???

I believe the primary is loaded to approx 90 grams which seems the heaviest the stock weights can be loaded. MCX recommends 100 grams, would I need to look for a different weight?
I’ll look into the headers and yes it has a boost gauge.
It also has the stock ripsaw with every third window closed. I’m guessing I’ll need to clip or replace the track and run extrovert drivers.

Thanks guys..

If the sled runs well with the clutching it comes with no need to change out anything. But if you're not satisfied with it, I would recommend Supertips 60 gram weights, WWW primary spring, Dalton 54/48 Helix and a White secondary at 60 degree.

This clutching was posted by Ted Jannetty last year, and with some minor tweaking of the weights we had our sleds run pretty well for trail/off trail riding. My friends and I all run MCXpress turboed RX-1's, Apex's and Attak's

Get the drivers, you will need them, watch your tunnel once you stud your track. (136" tracks ballon more) Open the windows on the track and clip them or get another track. Has he added a rear tunnel heat exchanger? Also talk to other customers and see how the install went for them......no warrenty on performance mods. Clutching you will have to adjust . Every sled is different but you should be close. You might have to get other weights. The headers will definatly have to be changed. The Ti stockers will not last. Any thing else I think of over the weekend I will post. ;)!

Dan...didnt like that front mount boost experience?!?!?! ;)

See ya around this weekend hopefully

Yes I did Matt ;)! Your sled is a dream!

however, this MCX can be a quick trade in and all setup into 136 already. I think you need an 08 Matt, wanna sell that old 06? hehe

maybe see ya again this weekend!

If its an 07 apex with 07 mcx kit, you will be SUPER happy!! If they did the head shim you can run 12lbs of boost on premium pump gas. The 07 mcx has half the lag of the 06.....Its right there!!

..and I wouldn't worry about the 07 extroverts, I think they are made out of a little harder compound this year. Mine are holding up fine...so far. Also the fuel ratio changes with elevation and is much cleaner burning. My o7 Ti pipes are still like new....so far.

I went out for a spin today and was awesome! Was nice going along a twisty trail just like a stocker at slow speed till you hammer on it and watch the boost gauge climb and hang on for deer life!
With the now limited MCX units, I was told this sled wouldn’t be for sale till the end of season. Supposedly after phone call there could be an extra kit somewhere in the stable to be sent up. So now I can have it installed in my RTX or pick up this Attak up once dealer gets a buyer for my RTX. Should know in a week or 2.

I do know it has stock headers and no extrovert drivers so hopefully it would last at least the season if I pick up this sled.
thanks for the input guys. It will be this kit or an Alpine front mount. decisions decisions.......I do know I will have a turbo soon! :flag:
Here is a pic out riding this afternoon.

Without extros it will ratchet the track right off of an Attak. 90 grams in the stock weights is no where near enough weight. I run 86 grams in the heavy hitters on my CPR which are WAY more aggressive than the stock profile.

Dano....

I think i want the Simons CPR,real bad!...lets do this!...we both need turbos for next season,or we will be bored!..lol

I need to run 135+ at will....;)
