What's with all the whining about the 08's???

Sorry, but I AM disappointed by no 136, no HP jump for Apex, and no attak model in 08.

all in do time...... the hp jump possible chassis change for apex will be next cpl yrs..... i believe there will be a 136/144 nytro next year, you cant get it all at once.... and you can always buy a 144 phazer and put a 1.5 track on it for us flatlanders.... there is the attak, just named different.

to me the biggest mistake was the lack of a standard apex er sled.... you have to buy rtx or gt in the 121, i think this may be a mistake by big blue... unless this is how they plan to get rid of all the leftover 07s.

i am a little disappointed in the lack of BLUE in the lineup..... not upset about my 07 attak or the 08 lineup...... 0.

For how many years now, it's been the same. Check the posts out after every model year and you hear complaining. It's on all brands and sites. Yamaha doesn't just change their whole line up at once. Their trends are the same know matter what. The reason I have always stayed with them, is because I have found them to be dependable. I guess I realize that if I want a 200 mile day sled, then it won't work great for ditchbanging or vice versa. It's pretty simple. As far as the weight issues go... If you want the lightest sleds, then you are riding the wrong color... If Yamaha was comfortable bulding an under 500lbs four stroke and felt like it would last and still be somewhat economical they would...

For me the RS Vector LTX GT (terrible model name LOL) looks really good... Finally the Deltabox II chassis with the 120 engine, with 136 track.

Its not that the Nytro isnt going to be killer... ITs that the rest of the lineup didnt get more than BNGs..

a 160hp apex would have been nice along with a 20lb weight reduction.. and a new ski design..

Im glad i love my apex... because i wouldnt be buying a yamaha this year anways..

Good grief people! The apex is only two years old!!! What do you expect them to reinvent the wheel every year? But then you'll complain about prices. They have a winning chassis in the Apex. They put a 136 in the vector chassis delta 2!. They brought out a whole new Nytro. They got a lot of winning combos in the apex chassis, and now the Nytro and of course the phazer from last year.

THE LAST TWO YEARS THEY'VE WON SLED OF THE YEAR WITH THOSE CHASSIS AND MOTORS!!! AND YOU EXPECT THEM TO REVAMP THEM? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THE REV WAS SIGNIFICANTLY CHANGED? OH YEAH, THIS YEAR AFTER 5 YEARS! OR LETS TALK ABOUT CAT? THEY GET PILES SHOVED DOWN THEIR THROAT AND COME BACK FOR MORE.

I swear yamaha "loyalists" whine more than any other brand. I too was hoping for a 136 nytro, but I'm not all that disappointed now, it'll come eventually, just can't expect them to dump everything on us in one year. Get some perspective.

AMEN BROTHER!!! Couldnt have said it better myself :ORC

AMEN from me TOO!!! I lOVE the line up WOW!!!!! DId you see that FX!! WOW!!! ;)! :yam:

From a marketing point of view Yamaha can't shoot all of it's bullets in one year. They need there to be reasons for people to upgrage......

Bullets? I think you nail it right there.... I laugh at the point that lots of people wanted this new sled and now the MSRP is keeping them away or shying them off.. Well come on common sense tells you the lighter, the newer, the more goodies. the higher the cost. I think yamaha is a very smart company. They know they can't win the whole market, so they are going to take whatever piece of the pie that is still profitable and if that means a 3 year cycle then that's fine. The responses show how "ME" this society has become.

Regarding the Apex: The problem with minor updates is also that it makes the "big next thing" seem a lot smaller then it is. My guess is that Yamaha wants the FX-1 to make a big splash next year and they're saving their ammo for that event.

You bet they are

I talked to a Yamaha sales manager in 2005 when the Apex was released. He said we have seen nothing yet, and that they were alredy riding the 2009 model year protos, the next big thing to be released. That put my new sled every 2 year schedule on halt, and I skipped the 2006 Apex, added a turbo to my 2003 and now I'm waiting for 2009.

Another thing, the Yamaha 800cc MotoGP roadracing bikes ridden by Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi is already faster than the 990cc bikes they rode last season. And they are the fastest in MotoGP by Valentino Rossi winning the pre season qualifying shoot out at Jerez in Spain with Colin Edwards finishing 3rd.

BTW - I think the line up is pretty amazing, even if I'm not going to buy a sled for 2008.

Wow guys, stop and think what you are saying. Yamaha is in business to stay in business and they are playing it smart. Like stated before they, did everybody a favor by limiting the models. Drives the value of the used market up and help Dealers sell old New Stock, Smart move by Yamaha.
I too was hoping for a 136" 130 sled, but now that I looked at the Nytro line up, I am very excited and if they are what I think they will be, I will buy one. Then I will add a track extension for 136 and I will have what I want.

I was explaining to the wife last night that Yamaha did not build a 136" sled that i wanted and she stated with out hesitation, Build your own!

I have a great wife!

I have never ever heard or seen so much whining. You guys with the 150's will get improvements in 09, a 3 year cycle, no suprize here. We have the best sleds available and lets be thankful that Yamaha has stayed in such a declining market to give us the best sleds available and continued to bring new models and technology to us.

I will get off from my soap box know!

Just my 2 cents!

Whiner

I'm not going to complain about the new models but one thing I would like to see them offer in the future would be a choice of foam for the seat. My son's Nytro is like sitting on a piece of wood.

Here is my take on this................... It's the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Yup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have priced me right out of current year sleds.... :ORC #$%&* :die
