Why did MC-Express switch to rear mount?

Gas Tank

The gas tank is aluminum. So it is light and not affected by the heat. There are also heat shields. I was wondering how CPR is handling this issue. Since their turbo is mounted in the same area and they retain the stock tank. I would not want a plastic tank next to all that heat.

Super tuner, the price on they're website includes a 25% swede tax that we are exempt from.I paid 30,000sec which was $5,200 cdn and approx $3,800 US. This price includes shipping.[/quote]

Thanks for that information Ken. I am going to get to the bottom of this. My desire to offer a fair price on this kit.

I will reply when I get a reply back from them. Sometimes things get lost in translations.

I'm afraid that your statement about the tax is not true. I have confirmed prices. If you got yours at $3800.00 U.S., you got the deal of the century and I am certain it was an error. Congratulations though!

Call me a liar, its more like $4,000 us with shipping .Click on they're web site www.mc-xpress.com then go too (turbo's)then look at top right of page which say's price includes 25%swedish tax.Click on that to show you that we are excluded from the tax over here in north america.

No one is calling you a liar Ken. I am calling you lucky for getting such an awesome deal!

You need to go back and read the website again. They have a link that you click on that describes the taxes for their area of the world, not the U.S. Doing the conversion on their Kronors, comes out to about $5000.00 U.S.

All i want to know is how much did you get yours for ken,if it was 4,000 or less can you get me one

Where are all the people that said the Bender rear mount was a bad idea?

mnmsnowbeast. I got in on they're first batch of 25 kits and got mine around New Years.I think he said there would be another batch ready end of jan or begining of feb.The best way would be to fax them and ask for a quote and estimated shipping date. You have to wire the money up front and you will recieve your kit 7-10 days after they ship it.You will likely have to pay applicable tax's and duty (if any)when it arrives.
I havn't got mine installed yet but my freind a couple hours from me has and he says" its hard to hold on to and has minimal lag"Ill give you my own impression once i'm rolling.
mc-xpress fax #46911202008 from canada you have to dial 011 first

So ken, yours being a new rear mount, like the bender turbo,is it louder like benders is,cause i like the growl from the bender turbo, and i drove a stage 2 bender last year on plowed ice 1/4 track we had a radar at,thing rips, dont know what boost woody had,but it felt good.

Like I said , I don't have mine installed but my freind does, and yes its supposed to be really loud.Unfortunatley for me ,I like them on the quieter side.If its to loud i'll be wearing ear plugs and maybe adapting a tip down bend or a longer muffler sticking out the back.

out cutting vent holes in their hoods?
I have no problem with the heat on my front mounted mc express turbo,I insulated part of the hood and cut holes as per mc express,i have 300 miles on the trail so far no problems with anything at all and there is no turbo lag ar bog, like i have seen on rear mounted turbos, out of the hole i have no lag at all,on a 35 mph roll,on hard pack it jumps the big 1100 cats about 3 lengths and keep right on pulling with my 25 tooth top gear,I did not see that last year with the rear mounted turbos I would like to see a mc express and a rear mounted turbo run 600' with a flagman,I will bet on the one without the lag or bog.

I agree with you 100% that a front mount will have less spool up time. I also agree that in a short race his will be an advantage. I am more concerned with reliability and service of the parts. I am mainly concerned with the manifold used in the front mounts. I have seen many turbo manifolds crack, especially tubular type manifolds. Using different types of matierial can make them more reliable but even then, some have cracking problems. I have seen this mainly in cars, now do this in a sled that is on a rough trail an its extremely abusive. This may not become an issue with any of the front mounts available but I is a concern I don't want to deal with later.

I don't know or heard anything about cracking manfolds, but the mc express frount mount manifold uses stainless steel, and the stock manifold is also stainless steel, guess we will wait and see, something i forget about the fuel millage seems to be the same as stock about 13 MPG and i was on the boost alot average 9# on some trails and lakes,it only goes to boost after 7500 RPMs,the boost is not needed on regular trails, unless you go faster than 65 MPH My 9 gallon tank is no problem, riding with the 2 stroke gas hogs they need 13 gallon tanks at 9 MPG

turbo

one other thing, the front mount turbo uses the stock exhaust, and with the turbo its no noise at all,you can not hear the turbo, sounds stock,or you can change to a aftermarket exhaust,I tried it without the muffler too noisy, the rear mounted turbos need something for exhaust noise.
