Will a 2" track fit in an 08 nytro rtx?

just as the title says,
I'm looking at puting a 2" lug track on my 08 nytro rtx assuming its possible,

I've searched almost every post and haven't found any definitive answer,

I am willing to change my drivers and remove my tunnel protectors but I need to know if it will work with out rubbing??

I'm thinkging of the backcountry or the challenger any one have any experience on these tracks??

or if these won't fit whats the largest lug I can fit??

I posted about this a while back and got some replies. General consensus is that tunnel protectors have to go, but then you should have plenty of room on stock drivers. If you are going to 2" though, you're probably gonna want extros. Yammi's eat hyfax fast anyways, and running your track really snug (which you'll have to do to avoid ratcheting with stock drivers) will accelerate wear and reduce fuel mileage, etc. The front protectors are welded on- have to use a dremel and a lot of patience, or be surgical with an angle grinder w/ cutoff wheel. The cooler is very thin, so not much of a margin for error. The rears are riveted and are easier to get out. Gonna want to add some wheels to the skid too, unless you typically ride only in powder. so it will fit if I remove all the protectorsincluding the ones on the front heat exchanger,
I wont have to change the size of my drivers right? I just need to get the extros?
do they need to be pressed in or do the just slide off?
do you think the marganal wheel kit will be enuff??
 
Yep, rip out the tunnel protectors. Stock size drivers will work. I have a 1.75" track on mine and I went with extros that were very similar in size to stock. Dropping a tooth can give you the same effect as gearing down though, so if you are considering regearing for more grunt, this might be a good idea. It also gives you more room for the paddles. Changing the drivers requires a shop press. No other way of getting them off. It's a bit of a process, but worth the effort. With the extros you'll need a track that has all windows open and preferably fully clipped. If you are buying a new track and you do any trail riding, you might want to consider a 1.75", as it will be slightly better for trail use than the 2". The search function will give you hours of reading on the various components of this swap. The faq section at the top of the index has a great step-by-step on swapping a track with the exception of installing the extros. Good luck!
 
lots of snow in TO.? Why a 2 inch track? Can you even get a 2 inch 121? GO with a 1.5 or 1.75 intense track. Make sure its fully clipped and switch to extrovert drivers.

2 inch 121 and you wont be able to put in studs obviously. Weird setup man. What the hell are you doin with this thing? Runnin' down hobos on bloor and bathhurst?
 
lol yeah I live in T.O but I don't ride there,
I do allot of climbing small hills and messing around in the powder so I figure it would be worth it, I have a 1.5 intense track on my skidoo but I was thinking of trying a bigger lug this time
