i am still in love whit my 07 gt,specially whit a pair of 06 handlebars, man are they great, but i have to say that if i had tried a AC F 1000 or turbo before i bought mi apex,i am not sure i would have my yammi, they handle even better and are more comfortable then my apex gt.

What skid/track combo did you chose..... Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit, but this is a topic LOTS of Apex owners are interested in......
They NEED to market an Apex XTX!

Get your SHOCKS calibrated to your riding style and you will notice a HUGE difference! give STAR SUSPENSION a call in Coaticook,QC. 819-849-7858 and ask for Robert, he's reasonable in price and very good. Mine rails in corners no more ski lift or bottoming in large "G" bumps.

I used 136" rails and move the skid back 4" and down 3/4". I used a 144"x2" track with no slip drives the work great. I will have pic soon just painting the tunnal now.

I've wanted to reply to this post for a bit now. Would i buy my apex gt 150 hp (stock) yamaha sled again. Absolutly. The pull from this engine is of none other. personaly the suspention is limetless if you put in the smallest effort to adjust. Yes there is a couple of things you need to know maintanance wise. (its a snowmobile get a clue) I can't wait to roll off 20,000 km on this thing and go for 40,000 , 60,000km . All sledders want are two things in the end. #1 HP # 2 reliability. Yamaha manufactures both in one sled.
Its july and i can still feel that smooth easy pull of my apex(Tracy i had to name her)
getting close to 5 months till christmas

Looking at my first APEX this year. I was hot on one last year when I bought my first Yamaha, a Vector GT for the wife, and I just can't get the damn thing out of my head. I keep thinking I could walk away and keep what I have, but after getting tantalized with the sound of that tuned exhaust after checking out a used one last year, I'm in love with the performance potential. I can get a great deal on a leftover APEX ER, I'm just wondering if I will miss the front clickers too much, like on the '09 Vector GT? My conclusion is I probably won't, so I'm about to pull the trigger before this '09 is gone. If anybody has anything to add about what I might be giving up not having the GT, I'm all ears. I just want the performance of the motor, and I'm not all that sure I'd miss the Ohlins that much, given the mono is more than sufficient, but I don't want to have a poor handling sled with the big weight, given the fact you're limited in adjustibility without the piggybacks. All logic says I shouldn't do this, but I'm super hyped about this sled, and I don't exactly know why. All I know is, I love the '09 Vector GT, so I can just imagine what this APEX performance must be like. Also, if anyone has any comments about a dealer being able to upgrade to the 2010 handwarmers on an '09, I'd like to hear that too.

Very cool - thanks!
Any idea how difficult it would be for a minimally mechanically challenged person to put them on? Do you have to compress the shock significantly to get them to fit?
Interesting.

They are a straight bolt on. I have them on my Attak and think they are as good as the Ohlins clickers I have on my Viper. WAAAY cheaper too! I actually bought my GYTR's 4 months before I bought my Attak LOL! I KNEW I wouldn't be satisfied with the stock shocks after having adjustable shocks on the Viper. Got a GREAT deal on 'em from Pro116. GRAB 'em if they're still available.
