How much taller can I expect a WRP seat to be over the OEM? I'm under the impression Yamaha increased the seat height in 2012. Will it make a significant difference to justify the cost?

Are these discontinued? Seat Concepts has not been much help and WRP is having all seats like this made by Seat Concepts. I'm not sure what that relationship is, but they seem to be tough to find. I reached out to Barn of Parts, as they seem to come across as a WRP dealer.

Anyone for a group buy for VIP members? I'm in if you are.

Agree with MrSled, I had one on my 15 Apex, the OEM seat doesn't cut it especially for a 220lb + rider, tailbone smasher on whooped up trails.
Definitely sit up higher, you catch more wind, I noticed it on my legs/knees particularly were getting colder than usual.
Seat cover material is more grippy than OEM too, so sliding side to side for some body english is not as easy, some may like more grippy seat.

I used the stock seat cover over a WRP foam on my ‘11 and it’s a huge improvement over the original, much more comfortable to ride.

When I sit on my sled, I am 2" taller at the shoulders with my WRP seat.

I checked this, because it was hard to get used to the added height and squishy feeling of the WRP....so I felt as though I was sinking more into the WRP seat, when really my shoulders were 2" higher.

Did you just not use the WRP cover, or were you able to buy foam alone?
I was able to buy just the foam piece in its own last fall, but I was told at that time I got the last foam they had lying around which hadn’t been boxed up with a cover for a full kit.

When I parked next to a fairly new apex, my wrp on my 06 looked significantly taller. It's the foam too...it just feels good, and is a great improvement, imo.
Got mine through Travis, at BOP.

Good news guys. For those that have put the WRP foam under the stock cover, I got in touch with goth WRP and Seat Concepts. The folks at seat concepts thought that roughly half price may be fair for the foam alone.

So I need an honest opinion, am I asking for trouble trying to overstuff the stock cover with the WRP foam? I know it has been done and the savings are huge. They quoted $140, and I am assuming I will have shipping on top of that. I think I am going to pull the trigger and if I can’t do it, have a shop install it.

I will document this on my YouTube channel as well for others to see how it’s done.

Take a look at how much excess vinyl you have with the stock cover. You sure don't want to compress the replacement foam too much. I had a local guy do mine., and that was 4 yrs ago, so I don't recall what excess there was.

Here's some encouragement....apex foam (trimmed with a bare hacksaw blade...better than a knife), on top of suzuki foam, with my old apex seat cover. Kind of a mutant, but it's awesome compared to the original! Still stretchy after 12 years too!

I'd definitely be interested in this for my dads sled. There as a good amount of extra material when I did mine. I just told him he needs a WRP today. When will you find out if you can get one?
