I have an 06 attak which I have ridden in Michigan and Minnesota. It is set up to ride purfectly there. This wednesday I am going to Wyoming and will set up the clutch for the altitude. I was wondering what anybody thinks about any other changes ( i.e front shock preload, limiter strap, transfer rod settings) I am going out there with a friend who has renegade 800 which I can beat in any conditions at home and would appreciate any help to make shure I can make a good showing out west. Thanks :yam: wak

I took my Apex out there in October went to around 9000ft (Line Shack Lodge,Union Pass) sled was brand new bone stock it ran fine and unless you are going to climb snowking leave it alone and ride it.

Also if you are going out thru Cheyenne and i suspect not being from the twin cities but if you do (STOP EVERYTHING) take it to Cody at High Altitude Yamaha in Cheyenne and let him dial it in for you if that is,, you want it spot on ,he has everything you need to set it up and has done my 2 stroke sleds for little or nothing for years,he will also put it back to stock when you roll home.. if ya do that make sure you give him a heads up before you leave home.

Do not forget your survival backpack either ,avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, etc ,etc if you have not been out there you may want to do some homework before you roll, they have been getting record snowfall this year and have had some major avalanches!

Good Luck!
;)!

I am going to somwhere by Laramie,Wy . The ski-doo boy set it up. I think I will make the changes to the clutch weights but not the gearing changes that the dealer recommends. I have done this to my arctic cats in the past and it seemed to work fine. It so hard to figure out if these changes are worth it because stock works good. thanks
