How are they getting the crank bearings oiled ? Self lube you say ?Vibrations from what ?
Liquid cooled crankcase that keep the crank bearings 100 degree's cooler? Problems with
proto-types that are now worked out and fixed ?
They are walking away from SDI Technogy.
They now have direct injection with E-Tek.
600 R to have E-tek next season Proto out now!
They took 50 pounds off their chassis.

We all knew for years that anyone of the big four manufactures could do what ski-doo has just
accomplished.
Flat out new 800 R is a factory go fast mod sled !
Good for Ski-Doo to give there customers this new little rocket ! They need too and I will explain why !
Ski-Doo had flat out over produced the older Rev chassis and had some 10,000 to 20,000 was the number quoted to me last february left over's !
Even when your # 1 in sales it dont mean you will reach your sales goals year after year !
Now this has been a big problem for all manufactures at one time or another including yamaha. Nothing new here with lack of winter ?
In order for ski-doo to keep the sales numbers rolling they had no choice than to bring
something to the market that would turn that slide
( lack of sales ) around.
New lighter yet stronger chassis, 37 % stronger, new direct injection system that is way better than SDI, unsurpassed gas economy, 14 horsepower added to 800 motor and the list goes on !
I wont be surprised to see them do well with this new diretion their headed ! They are setting the trend not following it ! And thats great for the sport
and is what all manufactures must do to keep their customers.
With the real condition of increasing cost for all Americans, higher taxes, higher gas prices, higher home heating, over extended credit, lack of winter just to name a few the sport of snowmobling is getting smaller not expanding as one would think.
I ride Yamaha because I choose too and I may be adjusting my values at 20,000 miles about the time these these guys have bought 3 sleds ! Sorry
No more 2 smokes for me no matter how they lean them out !
Maintainance is almost a crime on my Apex GT. This sled has exceeded my expectations and Iam very happy with it ! Can it be improved Sure ! and it will if Yamaha chooses. We just have ask very loud and often with numbers !!!!!!
If you own a yamaha and you want win all races go buy a S.C., turbo, or NO2 and iam sure you win if its that important !
Oh and dont race other guys that have same set up with more knowledge and deeper wallet ! They will still win !!!!!
You could always make an excuse though, that you spun or had a bad lane or forgot to turn the bottle on !
And just for anyone that does not know Yamaha has had High Pressure Direct Injection on 2 stroke boat motors for some time.
I still bought a 175 four stroke on 24' tri-toon and very happy Could have put the E-tek on that but decided that no more oil burners. Lets
help keep our lakes clean everyone !!!! Dirty water sucks !!!!!
And we should all feel this way about air quality I would hope for our kids sake ! Dirty air is killing us ! LOL

Everybody seems to care about the weight of the sled over the reliabilty. You buy the YAMAHA for the great motor / cool exhaust / the best fit to finish in the market . If your worried about weight go on a diet ! LOL

The E-tec, was coming from the day BRP bought the Ficht Fuel injection system from OMC or all of OMC from that matter. They bought it for one reason, their snowmobiles. I just think, Yamaha needs to trumpt it now, if they want to try and they want to become Number 1.

It's funny, I was checking out this You tube vid. and my buddy with the XP 800 calls me to let me know he's stranded up in the U.P mich with a broken drive shaft. While he's bitching about almost getting killed(loss of control,no brakes) I asked what he thought of Ski-doo and thier priority to build lite weight. Maybe Ski-doo fig. be esier to tow

I was at my dealer yesterday (Yamaha,Cat,Doo dealer) and the service manager was telling me about all of the issue's with the new Doo's. Drive shafts, Brake dust on left boot and pants, 800R having a hard time breaking 100MPH, No light's for grip and thumb warmers, Rear wheel's breaking on TNT, Eradic MPG. He said about all they have done on the Yamaha's is change oil. I will live with the extra weight, Thank you very much. Cat's have not been to bad, Just some electricle issue's. kviper

wow, this hole 4th page had been dedicated to videos and pics of broken xp's. Just wondering what the point of this was?? I dont remember anyone saying they were running out to get one tommorow so why try so hard to convince other ty members that the xp's are junk. No need to stir the pot for nothing.
