Hey All,
Just looking for a quick answer on my 2007 Yamaha Apex Attak. Is it okay to just drain and fill the oil using the side reservoir? The filter doesn't need changing. Thanks in advance!

Yes you can change out the oil just in the tank. It just wont be a complete oil change as there is still some oil in the engine pan.
Easy to drain that thru access cover under the engine

Drain the oil tank, remove the plate under the motor and then pull that drain plug. Add oil to oil tank. Watch Mr Sleds video in the sticky at the top or following the link below. Can I just pull the oil pan drain plug and fill from the oil reservoir? Sorry it’s my first time.

like was said, you can just drain the tank without pulling the bottom drain but be prepared to have to top the oil up around the 2000 mi mark. done it that way a few times when i have the lift covering the skid plate and the suspension pulled so it was too scetchy to move.

I would never recommend that. Drain block and side tank. Filters could wait but I would never take a chance. Would you do that to your car?

On a related note, Walmart just had the 5 quart jugs of 0w-40 Mobil1 synthetic on rollback for $19.50 (US)! Cheapest I've ever seen it. It's all I've ever used in the 4 strokes.

I actually rarely change the filter now, just drain the block and tank like others have mentioned. I only will do the filter one a new engine install after a break in period.

I don’t remember which sled but think APEX any way manual said change filter after first 500 mile with oil change then just oil for a long time, can’t remember the detail. So I am going with Kinger. Remember this is driven in a DUST free environment IF IT EVER SNOWSI actually rarely change the filter now, just drain the block and tank like others have mentioned.
