- 2008 Yamaha Nytro 1000cc 4 Stroke
Hey new to the forums and servicing my own snowmobiles. I have a 2008 Yamaha nytro 1000cc 4 stroke. last year when it was very cold It would sometimes get a error code 12 but It would go away. I replaced the green 40A fuse/relay which I believe is for the ignition. same thing. this year I did an oil change, went to start it and it would just click I had the red low coolant temp. light on too. after attempting to start it a couple times the error code 12 came back and now its here to stay. Im wondering where I can start troubleshooting? I put my voltmeter across the starter underneath and tried starting it and I didn't get any voltage readings. Maybe an issue with the ignition before it gets to the starter? any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks!

When you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump running. Also is your emergency stop button in the up position?

Thanks for the reply. The kill switch is up in the right position. And yes the fuel pump does engage.

Code 12 is crank position sensor error. Try turning the engine clutch by hand ( with key off ) a couple of inches and try starting it again.
