I got a call from my dealer and will be getting a heated seat installed in my STX DX.

I was wondering when I got it home and looked it over were it was, no switch anywherere.
It was evening so I looked on the features list and guess what - on the Yamaha Canada site it was there but on the Yamaha USA site NOT listed.

So I decided it was my mistake for assuming all the same and did not check closer.

THEN.............RJ's from Duluth calls and asks when can I bring my sled in for installation of my Heated seat and switch. YAHOOOOO

I guess the lawyers must have just said to much confusion just put em in boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard there was quite a few that left AC missing the heated seat option and they sent a notice to the dealers letting them know to install it during prep.

I just bought a stx dx week ago. When I saw your post, I went to yamaha canada site to see the spec and surprise!! I think the dealer forgot to install the Heathed Seat or I didN't find the Switch !?! o_O

Good luck, should be a seat / switch in your future.

I think these are going to be great sleds. Nos Pro says his is 'almost plush' in regards to the ride and ours should be better at least for ride on the skis, the comfort of the windshield, hand/seat warmer, love the position........it is going to be a great year just wish it would SNOW.... maybe hope 26th?

Heated seat is a factory option not dealer installed. However, as factory did not install the heater looks like it will fall on your dealer to complete the build.

Is the heated Seat supposed to be in right in the box by the cie ? Or the dealer have to install it in his prep?

Good to know ! Tanks a lot Guys !:)

My R-TX-DX came with the heater in the seat but no switch. It was a feature I really was looking forward too, but thought I was losing my mind not being able to find the switch. Took it back to the dealer and they contacted Yamaha and they sent the switch and the panel with the cutout for the switch and installed no charge, all is good. The DX is supposed to come from the factory with the heated seat and the switch. AC must have had a problem installer or someone from Colorado installing, JK. At least it shipped with a seat.

Ha! Yes yamaha issued a tech bulletin for this. They narrowed it down to specific sleds and sent dealer the kits necessary to fix the sleds missing them. I bet they even figured out who forgot to put them in.

;)!;)!;)! It's the best Time to return back to my dealer and wish him a merry Christmas !!LaLaLa

Apparently they ran out of switches so they sent the sleds out without the switch. Knowing they would send the dealers the install kit later on. I too just bought an STX DX with no switch. It will be installed during the PDI :)

Ones I saw didn't have the heating element either. That's in kit. Entire seat cover has to be removed. Major pain. Don't think they knew what happened till after fact. Glad they are on top of it now.

Cannondale - just want to interject that I installed aftermarket seat heaters on both of my Vectors and had I not had the correct staple gun, yes, it would have been a major pain. I first tried an electric staple gun but it didn't have enough "oomph" (real technical term I know!) and I went back and bought an air stapler and it worked great.

Bottom line - if I can do it....anybody can do it! LOL!
