Yamahaboy701's Nytro MTX Boondocker Build

Mt,
Rode the last two days past the cabin. Today we almost made it to the groomed trail on the other side of the ungroomed trail. Good riding up there, very tracked up till you get way back.

yeah, that is the norm for getting a stretch like this without snow...should ahve been a little fresh snow in there over the last two days...

but it also should have been stunning beauty with blue skies though or was it cloudy?

Not much fresh snow found some untouched. We had to ride though the clouds every day but once we were above them it was blue skys all day long. It had snowed maybe 4 inches the last 4 days.

cool, well the Oft boys are en route, they arrive in bozeman tomorrow evening...your headed back tomorrow or close to right?

Hey guys looking for ideas to straighten my subframe all the way back. I only could get it a little bit with the straps and truck. I hear about a prying method but don't understand where to pry?

Depends on what bent. I've bent mine twice but it was the upper that moved not the lower. So I took a six foot pipe between the two at the ski end and just pryed the upper back into place. Note hear that it will move both sides when you do this. I strengthened my subframe a bit differently then the others have based on this problem. I welded a plate into the front of the frame area where the tool pouch is. This gives stability to the upper part of the frame. So far so good.

try hitting something in reverse! Maybe you and Yamaholic22 can take your 2 smashed up sleds and make one good one!

The lower left arm is bent back.

TopEndTom,
How is the 860R working for you? How many belts have you used this year?

Are you sure the lower has moved back and not the upper moved forward? The lower is much stonger and an impact to the ski will move the upper before it moves the lower. Measure both lowers from the back of the tunnel and see if they are different. Like I mentioned I've bent my upper arms twice now on ski impacts.

I would measure but both sides are messed up good. The other side has a lower bent a-arm and when I hit the left side the right side straighten out.... I think. Anybody have some straight measurements. This is why I think the bottom is bent...

I hate to say it, but it is pretty much nuked. If that gusset is deformed that badly, chances of straightening it are next to nill. Even if you get it straight, it will regress to the bend nearly immediately.

Been there, done that... puttin' in a new one next week.
