I know a few of you have put those sweet looking Yashimura rs 5 exhausts on your Nytro's. I was wondering how much of a power difference you felt if any? Does it matter if it is one for a 600 or 1000 CBR? Also wonering if you compared it to a Jardine, or Scorpion exhaust? Didn't know if one is more tolerable on the trail over another, and if one is less likely to get a ticket over another? NytroManiac would be a good reference I think on this one. Any opinoins Stainless, aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber?? Thanks guys

I have a titanium Leo Vince exhaust for a GSXR 1000. It's the 20" long model. It's very quiet with a nice tone. I hate loud exhausts(sold my MBRP after 1 ride) and this thing is quieter than any other Nytro exhaust I've heard. To me it's perfect.
This is the only sound clip I have

Older pic of the exhaust(had to change the seat mounting recently)

That looks and sounds great. Are you or any of the other guys out there running after market headers with these style exhaust's? Like a Hauk, or an Excell setup? Also how much of a performance gain if any are you feeling with these bike silencers? Have to make any fuel changes to the sled? Didn't know if I have to change the mapping or the amount. Thanks again for the help

Thanks for posting that clip, great carving also. That is the sound I'm looking to get out of my Nytro.

I think I am going to go with something similar. I found a Yoshimura RS-3 for a steel! I also ordered the Low Volume/spark arrestor insert. Once it all shows up, and I get her welded up I will take some pics. Here is a link of what one sounds like without the insert on youtube:

What do you think???
Since I just ordered the rest of the Dynojet kit, it should be nothing dialing her in (Hopefully )

sheetwright, I bought a used excell vector header. They're straight unlike the Nytro, and shorter which makes adapting the exhaust super easy. There was a definite power gain(probably from the header). I've had to do a bunch of clutch work to get my RPM's back down.
A few more pics. Copied from the mtx forum
The Nytro and vectors headers are obviously different in the way they mount. The slots don't quite line up so I had to do something different.
Installed 5/16 nutserts from the local hardware store
Removed the stock header mounting bracket and drilled two new holes for the 5/16 bolts
Made same 1" spacers out of an extra radius rod to go between the top of the tunnel and header and then ran my bolts through and tightened the header up.
Header centered in the back. Welded a flange on a piece of tubing which is bolted to the exhaust, then that slips on the header.
Enclosure is made from .060
Edit: Here's a current pic. I bent my old seat brackets within two rides so I threw them away and cut up the stock clamshell. Much sturdier and I personally think it looks better. If you're patient and shop around you can do it for fairly cheap. I bought the exhaust new off ebay for $200 and paid $200 for the header, paid $20 for welding, and sold my stock header for $50. So $370 for a complete exhaust

That is a nice job I have a similar pan, but mine rides above the tunnel protectors, and wraps around the exhaust. Right between where the 3-1 exhaust meet up. I have the Hauk header on there now. So I might have to mod this to get it all to work. See what happened is I must of had slack in the track while running it all out. The new 1.450 studs balloned passed the tunnel protectors, and ate through the 3-1 header in a few spots. Pat welded it, and caught the cracks by the sound. He was able to dial it in that time; but the next time it went out it wasn't running right. Found out the pieces from the header went into the silencer, and destroyed it. If you pick it up, you can hear all of the pieces moving around in the Hauk Husher. So it must of been getting blocked sometimes, and causing poor performance. Since I am always tinkering with this thing I thought I would make it a bit different. Hope I don't get to many tickets; or I will have to go back to the husher
Here are some pics of what I have and what I will be adapting. Thanks for the pics and input Nikolai.

How loud it the Yoshimura RS3 exhaust with that spark arrrestor plug? I'd like the exhaust to sound good, but not obnoxiously loud. I'd also like to fit it in the stock location and put hte stock exhaust cover back on too. Would I need to do some modifications to the Yoshimura pipe or is the muffler just too long to get it to fit int he stock location with the exhaust cover?

Is there any modifications need or do these slip on pipes just mount up?

I actually didn't use the plug with the new RS3. The one they sent me was for a dirt bike not for the silencer I bought. I have not been able to take it out for a ride yet, due to the lack of snow. I have run it on the lift/jack. I will get some sound clips for you guys. Has a lower pitch growl then the Hauk Husher I had. A little loud at top end, but doesn't seem annoying. IMO
As far as the fit. You have to make up an adapter plate, with a adapter pipe on the end. Unless Yoshimura makes one with an inlet size to match? I am not sure on that. You would have to call them. Mine was off a Suzuki 1000 crotch rocket. After you made the plate all you had to do was hose clamp it up in the front, and use their mounting band around the original mount in the back. You can no longer use the plastic in the back, just the top. I will post some pics. It looks nice IMO.
great job nikolai!!! i'll be doing that to mine very soon, thanks for the pics and tutorial.
does anyone know if the rs 5 has that spark arrestor (quiet insert)available? researching for my under tunnel upgrade.
i am selling the stock header and lincoln county customs (tachacardia) can as an assembly for 300. it is a complete under tunnel set up. all you need is a tunnel top closure. ski

I would call Yoshimura. I originally ordered mine off ebay. That is how the order for the arrestor got screwed up.When I called Yoshimura direct they told me they make one for the RS3. So I am sure they make one for the 5. I will post some pics today.

Here are some pics! Sound to come next, or see the Youtube in the early post. Has a nice growl at idle and lower rpm's. Not a wining sound.
