I'm calling upon the aid of anyone here who installed a ZX2 suspension in their sled, particularly in an RS/RX chassis dual shock model, as in the ZX2-60 adapter kit.
I'm wondering if I have the wrong instructions or the wrong mount plates as I can't figure out how to start this. In the proceeding pictures, I have dry fitted the mount bracket/plate (2005 Vector) in 3 different positions. In each of these pictures the plate is mounted in a different hole on the plate and through the tunnel using the existing mount hole of the old suspension.
The first pic "A" is following the instructions provided, however it seems that the plate would be too far forward (6 inches) causing the front arm to rub against the drive cogs. The rear arm would also seem to be mounted too far away from the existing rear support bracket, unlike the pictures in the instructions.
The second pic "B" would have the front arm mounted about 1 1/2 inches up and forward of the existing mount hole. Would this be correct? Again, unlike the instruction pictures, the plate would still be too far from the old existing support bracket.
The third pic "C" looks to be the closest to being right and would have the front arm mounted in the existing hole of the old suspension, but the instructions does not mention this at all?
Something isn't right with either me, the instructions, or the mount kit and I don't want to start drilling and bolting things together to find out I did it wrong. To me, it looks like I may have the wrong bracket. Anyone?

The more I look at things, the more I think I've got the wrong instructions. Does anyone have the instructions for installing this skid in an RX/RS chassis sled with the older Pro-Action or Pro-Active suspensions?
I really would like to install the skid tomorrow so I can test it out. If anyone could scan it and email it to bbbgary@yahoo.com that would be great.

Not sure...mine is the monoshock and my plates were definately differnet than yours. So, you don't have the mono shock plates...that is good news. I would say the first pic is definately wrong. If you mounted it like like, your track will most likely hit your tunnel protectors. The third pic looks most like mine does.

Stoutner, where did you drill the holes for the front arm in comparison to the stock holes?

My tunnel is a 121, but I picked up the 136 suspension used, but never installed. I removed the extensions so that I'll use it as a 121 this year, and maybe a 136 next year.
Going by picture "A" the mount hole location of the ZX2's front arm would be about 6 inches forward of stock suspension's forward mount hole. I don't think that's possible for it to work without either the front arm or the rail caps hitting the driver cogs.
Tom, in comparison to your stock front arm mount hole, how close is the ZX2's front arm mount hole?

the frount mounting hole of zx is about 5 1/2 " back of the proaction mount hole for frount arm . and will come within 1" of the rear mounting plate . My plate mesures 6.25 " from frount hole to center hole and 11.25 " from center hole to rear hole .
Your tunnel does not look like it is for proaction . it is either mono or pro comfort this plate is for the proaction or the mono .
I took a closer look at your pics and none of them look like my rx1 .

Did you get a hold of Ad boivin? Are they hard to get a hold of for questions?

I just sent an email to Jeff at AD Boivin, called as well, but seeing that it is Sunday, I won't expect an answer today.
I think the problem lies where in the instructions say to mount the plate using the central suspension bolt as a guide. The only problem is that I do not have this mount for my tunnel. Only 4 bolts hold my suspension in, while I believe that 6 bolts hold in the RX1 suspensions, correct?

Yes that is correct . They are haveing to make new plates for the apex rtx .as well . it can be put in useing that plate but your measurements would have to be exact . you would have to have accsess to a sled with a proaction on as well to get a reference point to measure from .

Darn. Seems like Boivin didn't take into account the different suspensions in the Yammys.

yes the template will fit proaction and mono . The frount hole is for mono and the hole on the bump is for proaction . If you could find where to put the top hole it could be installed useing the plate you have .

I'll wait for an answer from AD Boivin and then I'll decide what to do.

You have the wrong plate, that is for a 03-04 proaction suspension using the center bolt. I haven't seen the other mount kits but that one is definitly for a proaction not a proactive.
Sorry bud have them send you the correct one. This is a bummer...
