I agree 100%. I have stated my concern to them as well. It is funny how maintenance free translates into, replace shock bushings.
Just another thing with ADBoivin that you need bite the bullet.

That is not right. This is a design flaw, you should not have had to pay for it. The ZX2 is supposed to be maintenance free, not replace $78 worth of parts every year. For us in the US this will turn out to be $100 bucks by the time it is shipped to us.

When I read your post I had to laugh... (not that I necessarily disagree with you though)
With my stock RTX skid I spent about $800 in worn parts in a little over 8000 miles and most of the repairs were covered under warranty. The front bushings are totally gone every ~500-1000 miles, the rails crack, the pivot arms crack, the rest of the bushings and bearings need replacing every 5000 miles, etc. I spent way more than $78 in gasoline for my tow vehicle to take my sled back and forth to the dealer too.
$78 per 9000 miles doesn't sound too bad to me, especially when I consider in that same 9000 miles I will spend well over $3000 in gasoline alone.
ReX - Sorry for all your troubles - don't mean to make light of your situation.

From A.D. Boivin today, see below "from what I claim", nothing lasts forever! What the hell! Should have gone with the Air-Wave
"For the maintenance free of the ZX2 like you claim, nothing last forever. With all the records that we have since the start the average for replacement of these parts is between 10 000 to 15 000 km (6 213 to 9 320 miles) , but in some worst case we encounter 4 000 to 5 000 km (2 485 to 3 107 miles).
We still working on a new material for these bushings to make sure that they will last longer. The 3 bushings (ML-006 2 req., ML-007 1 req.) that you will have to replace if necessary cost 36.24$ plus shipping and are available."

I got a similar story today as well. It went like this:
"As we say on our website it is maintenance free... i'm pretty sure for the
first season you've never had any problem with the maintenance. However, the
suspension isn't eternally maintenance free... and I believe this is a
normal thing, and we never claim it was ife guarantied!!! Obviously like
everything, after a while you need to have a check up on it. That's basicly
what we recommend."
I asked about new material as well and never got a response. Honestly if these make it to 9,000 miles I would be perfectly happy with paying $50 a year for a reliable suspension.

The ZX2 is the first suspension that I have NOT managed to break during it's first season since the SRV540. My AC's broke numerous of times, my '01 SX700R broke the H-arm, I broke the '03 Proaction H-arm, I broke the '05 Monoshock H-arm as well. There is one exception tho, with only 2300 kms or 1450 miles on my '08 RTX, it has not broken the skid down yet
For the cost of the skid and the punishment it has endured under my turbo sled riding nothing but ungroomed trail all winter, the small problems encountered is nothing compared to the ever breaking Proaction it replaced. I'm pretty happy with the ZX-2. It's not maintenance free and so goes for the rest of the sled. I can live with changing idler wheels, bearings, rubber dampeners, bolts, slider plastics, a cross shaft occationally, and bushings as long as the structural parts of the ZX-2 skid holds together.
And in my first season with the ZX-2 it's still holding together, would I be buying another one, yes I would. It's a pity that ADBoivin's support is at a low :-(

I finally got mine in the shop and looked it over and I got NOTHING no rubber bumper issues, no track rubbing, no bushings worn, no idler bearings bad, zip zilch nada. I rode over 1800 of groomed trails last year though so I'm not beating on it like some. I did hit some very rough stuff and it handled it like a champ. Over all this skid is the reason I am keeping the RX! I cant see ever using anything else.
