stock 03 suspension setup for a bigger guy...

Set your spring preload... This may be a stupid question, but the ProAction track has two shocks and two springs. The rear has a cam-type adjuster, and the front is threaded like the front shocks and seems hard to get to. When setting the preload for the 50/50 as you describe, do you...

    RS Rage Stock settings?

It did mention front preload. But the rest wasn't mentioned. Nothing like the video showed, which had a full table of every suspension adjustment and suggested ranges. I'll try 2-lines exposed! Thanks!

    RS Rage Stock settings?

I just bought an RS Rage used. The previous owner adjusted the front shock preload and the transfer rods for deeper snow riding. He suggested I adjust them to some extent. Any rough idea where to start? The video on Yamaha's web site hints to a table of settings for various rider weights...

    USED VECTOR PRICES??????????

They sleds are new, and I've seen few used. The new price might not be out the door. You may need to include tax and freight/prep. The $6500 seems reasonable to me. The sled sounds hardly used. And is about $1500 off the OTD new prices I found.

Potential New Customer -Your Thoughts Are Appreciated-

For the RX-1 vs Vector decision... Find a Yamaha demo-fest and go ride em. I did. The folks were really helpful and friendly. And you can ride and decide for your self. No pressure, no hassle.

Thinking of getting an RX1...have a REV 800 now.

I went to the one in Traverse City and Yamaha puts on a good show for the demos. Top notch. I'll pass along the advice I found elsewhere on this forum. If they have two of the sleds you're looking at try and ride both. They had two RX1s in Traverse City, and my friend rode both. He really...

Clutch fix good after 700+ miles

DO NOT take info from here and punish your dealers Tell me about it. It also helps sell sleds. I was looking for both a sled and a dealer. One isn't too useful without the other. This forum, including your experience, helped me make up my mind on both!

    Vector vs. Rage

Just got back from Great Escapes' yamafest. Mucho thanks to Jason and the others from Great Escapes and Yahmaha. I rode the RX-1, the Vector, and the Rage. There were two RX-1s setup differently, I took the one that was almost universally declared as "better". There was only one Vector and...

    Vector vs. Rage

stevenknapp, try to attend one of the demo rides Good advice, I've been trying to figure out which one I can attend. My local shop is having theirs when I'm going to be out of town. But I might drive up to Traverse City, MI for the one this Sunday. Drive up, sled, drive back. One day. :)

Check out the banner on the top of Yamahas website

I'm sort of shocked that there aren't spy photos or something to string us along a bit more... Also can't wait.

    Dead Vector, any ideas?

Ok, so if I keep the sled in my garage on a charger/tender....load it up, take it up north, ride the heck out of it for days....no problems.

    Vector vs. Rage

Hopefully, I don't make it more confusing... Nope, makes sense. The fact that the vectors suspension is said to be better doesn't negate the benefits of the longer track, right? I'd prefer the better ride, and hence have been leaning towards the Rage. The other factors of how nimble...

    Dead Vector, any ideas?

One thought, the engine runs thru a wide operating range. And the alternator spins thru that as well. At idle the output of most alternators is much lower than when the motor is running in it's normal operating range. So maybe at idle there isn't enough, but when moving it does charge the...

    GPS / Power install

Him, I take it you cut into the bar pad to mount the GPS? Any details on that? I've got a 276C and that looks like the perfect mount.

    Vector vs. Rage

Or maybe better put, why do you want the 136" track pro116?

    Vector vs. Rage

Ya, I saw that thread, even replied to it. The question there was if one should get a Vector and add the 136" track, or get the Rage w/ the track standard. I'm not even sure of the benefits of the 136" track...?? Before reading that I had assumed the Rage/Warrior suspension was better...

    Vector vs. Rage

I've been searching the archives and reading the forum...but haven't found a good answer to this... How does one choose the Rage or the Vector? The longer track on the Rage should ride better all things being equal. More traction. Better off-trail perforamance. But the Vector is supposed...

    vector vs rage

I'm looking at the same two sleds, the difference in price is $200, can you do a 136" kit on the vector for that price? If you need the 136" it seems best to just get the Rage. Someone on this forum in SD has a vector for sale use, almost new condition they said. My local dealer also has...
