That's pretty typical. Monoshock skids are prone to wear also. With 2300 miles on my 05 vector I made all metal bushings when the plastic ones wore out. the bearings go bad very early also because they are sealed but not covered over. Check out the ski-doo bearings. they are double sealed and...
It might be alittle too late on this post but I did this last year then sold my sled. I saved the templates and made a bar to install under the tunnel so you could trace the holes. I'll never use this stuff again. Sold the 1 ton because it handled so bad. Rode really nice with the Edge skid.
I've done this before. You need to measure the tunnel of the rev from the axle center to the front swingarm hole and the rear swingarm hole. Easiest and quickest way is to take a 4 foot piece of steel and notch it so it fits around the ski-doo axle, then tuck it into the tunnel, mark where the...
I don't think the vector is as great a trail sled as some might say. If you ride twisty, rough trail than you might consider a sled that will handle cornering better than the Vector. First of all the skis are really aggressive and a slight pull of the bars will almost tip this thing right up. So...
If you want more bottoming loosen the transfer rod nuts at the rear of the skid and turn them down toward the ground a little at a time. This will increase the transfer and the rear of the skid will be MUCH softer before the rear couples with the front. This makes a huge difference. Don't go too...
I've logged 2500 miles on the Vector this year. Typical problems: Tors, track noise, clutch noise. Dissconnected the tors and turned up the radio!.
The rear track shock is garbage. It's hard to believe Yammy hasn't bought into the position sensitive rear shock technology that Polaris and...
I also do most all of my miles in Quebec. The coldest I saw this winter was -20f. The sled started right up but gave me that "I don't want to start feeling". The key to starting any sled in the cold is not to keep cranking it over. I keep a portable hair dryer in my luggage with a short...
With a large wide windshield my back gets too cold. I didn't mind the Vector stock shield one bit. I've logged 2200 on this one as of last week. But the weather has not been below -20 f.
Does anyone know of a different rear track shock that I can try on my RS Vector rear skid? I've measured it but it's quite long compared to other brands. I'm wanting a variable rate shock that will take the stutters better and still not bottom.
I don't think the aftermarket will make anything...
I just got out of an RX-1. Just too heavy on the front (at least for me). The Vector has been pretty nice especially with SLP skis. Huge difference.
I bought a new Rev but I'll keep the Vector for when I feel really cheap! The thought of buying expensive oil for a 2 stroke just kills me.
Hey undecided, I think you'll like the Vector once you tune the suspension. I'm a Polaris rider since 91. I've had 13 new ones since then so I know what you are going through. The Vector now has 1500 miles on it. It has 96 studs down the center and Duallies. It handles just ok as it needs a ski...

Thats funny to hear volvo, I spent a day riding with a retried WSA snowcrosser that ran an 05 600 sdi renengade x package and on the trails the 600 sdi pushed in the corners like UPS truck. My vector was...
I just returned from a trip around Gaspe , Quebec on a Vector. I ditched my 04 RX-1 in favor of the wife's Vector for this trip. I feel the Vector is MUCH better than the RX-1 in terms of ride/handling. It has Woody's dualies which are fine for 40 mph but no good for aggressive trail riding. In...
Not one of you guys even mentioned ride and handling compared to a REV.
The RS is very "sneaky" in my opinion. It's very quick out of the hole and super, super quiet. My wife's with 20 miles on the clock ran 109 mph on the speedometer on good ice, which is very different than hard pack snow...
WOW...12 feet is a huge amount of snow for 1 storm. My buddy got back from Rimouski on Monday said it is all mud up there. I'm in northern Vt. we are getting a foot as I write this(6" so far).
