Buy a Nytro if only riding VT. I used to ride VT with my 05 RX1, I have a 12 Apex and only ride Canada. If I was only riding VT, Nytro is the way to go.

easiest way, trash the airbox and put K & N filters on it with larger main jets, best thing I ever did. fuel milage stayed the same.

Hardest part is removing the 4 screws at the bottom of bowel. Use a screw gun, I also replaced the Phillips head screws with sst Allen heads, won't strip as easy. Check out the tech section, nice step by step on these carbs. Clean the other jets while you have each carb apart.

run it withput the airbox and look at the carbs. Give it a little gas without the clutch engaging and see how they respond, they should all look the same. If you can jack up the back, give it lots of gas, bet one or more of the carbs aren't working correctly.

They do engage hard, and would not use any other belt than the stock yamaha. Try running a stock belt.

take the air cleaner off. Shoot starting fluid into all 3 carbs, quick shot in each, choke the machine, try starting it. I have been doing this for years on my 05 RX1, no issues. I also run my carbs and tank dry.

Get an apex rtx seat and a 3" riser, and you'll livin large

I used large adjustable wrench and it worked fine.

Go to the technical pages, there are many write ups including pics on how to do it. hardest part is getting the forks back in for the reverse. Job isn't that bad if you take your time and keep track of all the parts.

Triangle bracket is for rigidity, it has a thru bolt. 6.5" is about right, just measured mine. The other has a large allen bolt, also for rigidity. All those rivets alone aren't enough. When you install, do the front first, find a helper, it's a pain getting past all the rivets.
