i completely eliminated the darting on the standard yamaha skis with the dual carbides. They unfortunately made the sled very difficult to steer. I currently put on 6 inch in the center and outside. I hope the pilots dont have the darting problem,
I also tightened the front spring considerably, although i tightened up the front strap by 2 holes and rear by 1 hole. Tightening up the front made a hugh difference in my sled. Previously the rear seemed to kick up "donkey kick" and going over studder bumps was exhausting. Previously to...
Interesting comments! I have a2003 rev. Not surer what version which skis are on this but I feel like I have good control and east steering and absolutely no darting. I can also travel over stutter bumps at high speed and virtually let go of the handlebars
My nytro has no more darting...
I notice e bay has pilot skis listed for200$. Has anyone tried them? I have a 2008nytro fx rtx.
I have virtually eliminated the darting by using the dual runners and flipping the rubber but I am looking for more stability.
i was going to modify the balljoints for lenght to improve handling. From what I remember the modification was to turn down the balljoint by 2.5mm. Where did these posts go ? it is still make a difference? do the new balljoints have a length change.
Rex interesting attachment. It makes some sense to me. I cannot get this sled to ride well over stutters no matter what. I wonder if the 3 stage shocks from skidoo can be fitted to my Nytro RTX. or can anyone convert the Yamaha shocks to this setup? I already had them revalved and this...
getting back to my origional point, would it help to change the floats to the standard front shocks. Some people that have the mountain sled have offered to trade but i understand those dont have the damping adjustment
gomerfly, I think you may be right. it seems to be better with the spring at the loosest setting. It kind of seems to teeter taughter about the center, especially when the spring is tight.
When I ride my rev, the front doesnt teeter taughter like my nytro. i was hoping that other...
Thanks, I did a post a while back asking to trade for standard front shocks. no response.
The front never bottoms out, only the rear. and not all the time. a couple times an hour.
current set up is
torsion springs set on high.
center spring showing one thread.
center shock on 2nd to...
I just went out for another ride the other night with my fx nytro rtx shocks all revalved including the floats. Put in a new rear coupler block to prevent wheelies and bottoming out. even with the floats set at 55 lbs, and the rear set as soft as possible, this sled is killing me on the...
I understand there is three separate decals. It doesnt make sense that they show two part numbers for one item number (number 13) This is the decal that has a large white square.
My son flipped my fx nytro rtx (blue sled) and i ordered another side panel(right side) It came in without decals. I notice the online diagram shows two separate numbers for the side decal 8GL-711E-00-00 for $21.82 and 8GL-7711E-20-00 for $46.95. Which is the right one for the sled?
I just got my sled together after having the floats and the rear shocks re-valved. They also put nytrogen in my floats. I took it out last night for a short ride. The first impression is that it made a world of difference. Before this i tried every combination posted on this site and the sled...
