Still riding my 03 RX-1 bought it in 05.
First mod Wildchild and MPI drop-down bracket
ZX-2 skid/ apex seat/ MPI tunnel extension
Tow hitch
I will do the under tunnel exhaust before this winter, I burnt a backpack last year. Thinking of going to a 159 track but need to find the...
If I remember I put the rear bolts in first than did what RXrider did to get my fronts in. I remember using a floor jack to slowly push the front of the skid into position
I have a one shock version, set at 3. On a recent trip with my wife I forgot to increase the preload and bottomed out about four-five times. You could feel the skid move and not rebound. I felt the rear of the sled riding lower on the trail until I let off the gas and the spring was able to...
I have hartman's scratchers. They can be placed up when not in use. They worked well until I did some off trail riding through large brush and bent them. The brackets broke when I tried to straighten it back. I haven't but them back on yet I figure I'll make bracket out of a thicker metal...
I'm running 05 clutching in my sled
8bu-10 /10.3 steel
14.5 rollers
O-S-O
White 70 on secondary.
0-1000 elevation
I run a 1.5 crossover track. I also bought newer yamaha mountain ski's to widen the stance and help with flotation.
I removed the plastic pieces near the top of the front shock and mounted them there. I didn't replace the plastic pieces as they were only holding on my a bolt on each side. To much timberjacking.
I haven't had (knock on wood) any problems to date with bolts backing out. Still check them all the time. When I installed the skid marked all bolts and skid with a marker for quick reference. I do have the ice pin issue. Almost lost one last week came out the back plate and was hanging in by...
Thanks for the replies. Where does the carb valve go exactly? I think I'll try the JB wled bolt idea also. The piece of wood I have wedge in there moves around sometimes. Ordered a hood strap kit from a doo shop should be in next week I take pics once it's installed.
I've read all the threads I could find on this subject. I don't remember having so much snow in by engine area last year :o| . Taped and weather stripped every hole I could find. The only thing I could possibly see is snow is coming in where the hood and body panel meet near the shock mounts...
On and off trail riding for me. I don't use a riser anymore for better trail handling. This kit makes it much easier to move from sitting to standing. If you do on this mod on RX-1 an Apex seat or aftermarket seat is in order to make it work better.
