Mark, I don't know if you'd be interested or not but Leighton's Yamaha in Lee NH has a new 04 RX-1 still in the box that they'd love to be rid of. I don't know much about it but I do know it has reverse.
My A-arms on my 03 Rx-1 will need attention this summer. I am torn between repainting them - powdercoating them or having them chromed. Does anybody have any thoughts relative to this? Cost comparisons? Obviously if I go the chrome route I'll do the springs, tie rods and all else thats painted...
Sorry bout misspelling ROADS. I bought both pairs of the precisions new and they came with a "kit" that enables anybody to adapt them to most any sled.
I put the precisions on my wifes new Vector before she even rode it. I agree that it does dart on icy rodes that those Quebecois plow with their wierd cutting edges, it makes the roads like corduroy, but on decent groomed trails the sled handles like a slot car with way less darting than the...
OK guys, I'm QCRider's dad and it was my wifes Vector that wound up with the serious rattles. When she first heard it she looked at the speedo to check her speed and then STOPPED instantly. She swears there was no oil light on at that point. She told me it was making unhappy sounds so I told her...
That is good news - there are still some decent ppl left out there! Last winter I lost my wallet with probably around $150 American in it along with credit cards and other papers - I figured it was gone for sure. But when I returned home there was a message on my answering machine saying some...
The difference between washers and no washers wasn't earth shattering for sure BUT as Black John and Bob Miller both said......it was easy. My 03 pulls like a moose (got the O-S-O in the primary too) and on what appeared to be a flat-groomed trail I was able to get to 10,500 easily and 117 mph...
Just back from Quebec yesterday. I tried the lock washers in the secondary and the O-S-O in the primary. The trails were really "tight" on Monday and on a long straight stretch on 23 I was able to get 10,500 rpms and 117 mph on the "dreamer" - it may have had some left but I didn't lol...
The wife ordered her Vector with those Venture mirrors on it, they are the cats butt!! At last a useful mirror that you can actually see behind you with. Cool looking useless mirrors are exactly that........USELESS! I will have a set of these on my RX-1 next season.
You guys input has been greatly apreciated. I'm sure when we get in there it will all make sense. Thanks for your patience with what may seem to some as "dumb questions".
This is my 7th winter snowmobiling in Quebec, I can honestly say that I have never been treated half as bad there as I would have been in Boston or New York City!! AND it is nice to hear that SOMEONE in Canada actually gives a rats A$$ about our stuff being stolen so frequently!
I did as JD did. Replaced all the bushings in the front suspension after 5000 miles, some were worn worse than others but while you're at it, it doesn't cost that much more to know you are doin ok. While disassembling the left side, I found that my spindle was "binding" in the knuckle and upon...
It looks like my son (QCRider) is bound to get me poking around in the Clutches - ok, just might learn something! My questions are: Yamaha has listed 4 tools in the Service Manual that I have.
Primary Sheave Holder #90890-01701, YS-01880
Primary Sheave Puller...
I did use several parts off that skid Zook. Last summer I totally rebuilt and rebushed my sled (with the exception of the motor and clutches). My plan now is to bring that skid back to original condition this summer and run it next winter. It's not a bad feeling having another skid on hand...
QCRider and the wife and I were staying at Bernards in Shawinigan last week. QC got up early and started his Expedition to warm it up so we could go to breakfast. When we thought it was warm enough, we went out to leave and-----GONE!!! wtf? With all these guys running around out here? In broad...
Sure, order me one also. It'll be something to do - better than argue'n with fat George bout whether or not he has the nuts to hold his sled to the bar for 15 full seconds on a trail. lol
