    Center Shock

Thanks for the info. 1-2sec's is what I was looking for.. right now its pretty well instant. It looks like you are states side, I'm in Canada. I don't think the turn around will be fast unless I pay a mint for shipping. Again, thanks for the info I'll have to figure out my next steps.

    Center Shock

I’ve had some clunking in my skid and when I pulled it out to check things I checked the center shock. Without the spring on it, I compressed it and it sprung up right to the top like a pogo stick. So the question... should there be dampening ? I would have thought that if I compressed it, it...

    Changing Sliders

Great, thanks. This last 8000km's has been awesome not having to change sliders. Just need to pick some up this week and get 'er done.

    Changing Sliders

Quick question... I have a '14 Viper LTX DX , will I need to remove the skid to change the sliders or will they fit threw the holes in the track ? I'll likely end up going with regular sliders rather than Duponts. I fully believe in Duponts on other Yamaha's that love to eat their sliders, but...

Who has NOT had a starter issue

2014 LTX-DX 2500km's on original flash - hot start issue every second ride or so. rough idle as well, easy to start except on COLD (-30) days Refreshed - November 2014 - 2500km's more put on since. No more hot start, a bit better idle, still doesn't like the cold, harder to start.. can't let...

    Chain Case Failure Survey

There have been a lot of people talking about Chain Case failures which have gotten a few people 'concerned' (myself included). Some questions floating around are... Am I sitting on a time bomb? Is it mainly the guys running turbos that are having issues? Are most of the failures related to...

    Viper Trouble Free

2014 LTX DX, 5600km in 2 seasons, a couple hot start issues last year, all fixed since the reflash... but reality, it was just a minor annoyance (or embarrassment when next to your buddies). Everything is stock on my sled. I'll run it for another season or two and then see what Yamaha has up...

    Remapping update

This is what I got for Christmas... The XP-3 model. Its very small. I'm told they work well.. I'll be carrying it with me this winter on any trips. http://themicrostart.com/products/micro-starts/

    Best carbides

I wasn't too impressed last year with my staggered carbides. I found the steering a little on the heavy side and if the trails weren't hard packed i'd push through the corners every time and not feel in control. If the trails were hard packed it cornered well. I ran the Qualipieces Cobra Head...

    2014 / early 2015 viper reflashing

When I was speaking with a Yamaha rep a few weeks ago, he indicated that the flash will fix the hot start issue, as well as 3 or 4 other things. One being a starter engaging too early (there were more details to this one, but can't recall...) but he didn't know what the other couple of things...

    Front Skid Mounting Point

I've done some searching and I'm either using the wrong search terms or there is nothing on here yet about this... It appears that there is an alternate location where the skid can mount to in the front.. there appears to be an additional hole about an inch forward. So my question, a) am i out...

    Any Ontario Viper guys here???

All done, Not 100% crazy about it, they are 2" high and 6" long. They look much better than what was there.. may tweak them again at later date, but good for now. I had pics of my sled in a previous post, they had the MTO fugly numbers on it then.

    Any Ontario Viper guys here???

I've never been able to find official documentation on it. I've always gone by what the OPP have said on the trail and finding the best visible fit. All I've been told is that they must be clearly visible in block letters in a solid contrasting colour. Now... how many sleds have you seen that...

    Any Ontario Viper guys here???

Thats on todays list for me. Cut some vinyl numbers and put them on. The dealer put the numbers on that the MTO gives. (not pretty). Need to go out and take some measurements and design some new ones. I'll post a pic once I'm done.

    Wind Deflectors

Thanks, looks much better on yours... from further away mine looks fine, but of course you'll always be picky about your own machine (which usually leads into more money)

    New goodies for the Viper

How many miles/km's are people getting on the stock sliders ? on my previous Phazer i would go through a set of sliders every 500-1000km's (depending on conditions). I put Duponts on it about 3000km's ago and they may have worn 1/8th of an inch since. To me they are the best thing in the world...

    Wind Deflectors

I had found my sled to be cold, a) due to my low windshield and b) lots of wind hitting my legs. So I bought a medium windshield hoping that would take care of most of it (will try it out this winter), however that didn't solve the leg issue. On my old Phazer I had purchased Yamahas wind...

    Curve Skis in Canada

Does anyone know where I could buy Curve skis here in Canada, or more specifically Ontario ? I see I can order them online at the Curve Industries site, however I don't want to get into shipping across the border (duty etc) if I don't have to.
