    Fitch Fuel Catalyst

n answer to your questions (I assume they were directed to the year previous to using Flitch): My tank was half full and I alway use fuel stabilizer. Never a problem as I always drain my carbs. Same this year except I forwent the fuel stabilizer in favor of the Flitch devices. The only...

    Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Hi Sled Dog, I for one would love to see Supertuner's dyno results. Could you post them or direct me to a link where he has posted his results? I have searched and can't find anything here or on his web site. Sorry, my real testing is last season's gas receipts and mileages between fill...

    Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Well after running the Flitch devices in my fuel tank all of last year, I found no improvement to mileage or performance. No easier starts, no smoother throttle response, no change what so ever. The last test was to see if it was a decent fuel stabilizer. The sled was stored last March, and I...

    Fitch Fuel Catalyst

alaskanbowtie, We have had a warm winter down here, so I only have about 1700 klms (just over 1000 miles) on the sled so far. My impressions so far: The gas in the tank that sat from November to January smelled fresh after sitting for that period of time. Now that we have snow and cold...

    rx-1 programable cdi

Since the cdi on a RX1 only controls the ignition curve, I would suspect that you will not gain hp by remapping unless you are running compression mods, etc. You are probably better off working your fueling (jetting) vs your ignition on a stock sled (IMHO).

I did 143 MPH indicated today!

The Farmer's Almanac was right, they just didn't specify how far East the snow would be falling. Just ask the Chinese :o| Meanwhile, I am caught in purgatory: too warm to break out the sled, and too cold/too much sand on the roads to break out the R1. What's a poor country boy to do...

    Some video of my sled....

I needed to watch that just to take my mind off all of the rain we had last week, and more to come tomorrow. Excellent video.

    changing main jets ?

I just finished swapping out my mains. Yep, just give a pull or a light tap with the butt end of a screwdriver and the bowls come right off.

    skid install tips 03

The trick is to release the transfer rods. Follow these instructions and save yourself time and grief: http://www.totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/Suspension/replacing_your%20_suspension.htm

    Secondary washers

Grader is right, you have to add washers to raise the belt in the sheaves. Yami sells 0.5mm and 1mm washers in sets of three.

    Helmet Suggestions?

I have an HJC CLMax modular. It is comfortable and works great with glasses. Good price and solid build IMHO.

Ok i wanna check the oil on my sled and i can not find a dip

Beg to differ with you QC, but the owner's manual states "do not screw the dip stick back in" to check the oil level. "Remove the oil level gauge, wipe it clean, insert it back into the filler hole (without screwing it in), and then remove it again to check the oil level" (Service Manual...

03 RX1 QESTION ON IDLING PROBLEM

If you have ruled out sync, and clogged pilots, I would check the TPS next. Fresh fuel and plugs too before suspecting the CDI.

    Hard steering - Any Idea's?

What Red2003 said. You can loosen the bearings in front of the gas tank and use a needle attachment on your grease gun to shoot a bit of grease in there. The spot that was the tightest on my 03 was in behind the brake calipers. There is a metal retaining plate that holds a white plastic...

    TPI and Jetting

Thanks Bob, so the 160s are doing the trick for you with warm temps and 4 TPI valves. I only have 3 TPIs, so I might start at 150 and see how it goes from there. Why the Red Holtzman springs? Are you at higher altitude than the yellow will allow?

    TPI and Jetting

We got 15 cm of snow over night, so I got to crack the whip on my 03 RX1 this morning. It was -2 C degrees (just below freezing for you F folks), and when I gave it full WOT, the engine rev'd to 9500 and wouldn't pull. I pulled over and closed the TPI valves and tried it again... Woooh Hooo...

03 skid. Large upper wheel shaft question

Two possibilities: one, that 'sleeve' is an old plastic bearing that got pushed in on the shaft after it sepparated from the outer lip (you see this lip on the new bearings in the pic). Two, that is one of the white sleeves that sit on the outside of the wheels on that shaft and you put it on...

    Backfiring/Won't start

Yep, 1st thing I learned about my 03 RX1 is it likes choke to start with no throttle, and get her off the choke asap. Words to live by 4fighter, good post.
