Thanks for all the help on this. Dealer I bought it from told me they would take care of it. Dropped it off for the break-in service and turbo repair yesterday.
Found this bolt on the right side running board under the chain case cover. 500 miles on machine. Anyone know where it might have come from? Anyone know where to find the exploded parts diagrams for SW machines? I have not been able to find them on Yamaha's site. Any help is appreciated...
I had the same problem at about the same time. The linkage is out of adjustment slightly. In my case the shifting fork was worn and needed to be replaced. The chaincase cover has to come off to be sure.
I just bought the last one Lane had. I have a couple of guys looking around for pipes. If I come up with anything I will post it on the site.
What a mess with the pipe situation!
I found a good way to make this work. I took a large washer and ground it down to the ID of the gaskets inside the tailpipe, attached it to a piece of threaded rod with nuts on both sides. With another large washer(nuts on both sides) and a small piece of pipe on the rod I effectively made a...
Did you say you replaced the exhaust gaskets? If so, those bolts probably are supposed to be holding down the cover over the 4 head pipes. I just went thru the same process.
Anyone with a tip how to reassemble pipe with muffler back on to 2 y-pipes coming from exhaust head pipes.
I have 5300 or miles on the sled and had to replace exhaust gaskets between head pipes(4) and y-pipes(2).
I cannot get the tailpipe section to slide far enough on to y-pipes. I...
Thanks for the tips. I checked the bearing last night. This bearing does not have the old style square pin in it that typically breaks when the bearing is going bad. The speed sensor is a magnetic pickup. The coolant hose also is in good shape. I did find a nicked wire in the 3 wire loom...
While riding today, part of my belt came apart. No problem, stopped and changed it. When I took again, my guage didn't work. The backlight is on but the readout doesn't work. For a short time later on down the trail, the guage started to work again. A short time later the guage went out and...
Allen Ulmer can send you the complete list of error codes if you want. I had trouble with the TORS last week and he sent me the list. Its nice to have the list along with the sled when this happens. Just a thought for you guys.
Dave
Anyone else see the write up on welterracer's awesome molten orange Apex in this magazine?
Nice looking mod to the sled and some nice press for Yamaha.
Nice work. :yam:
TORS
I found the problem. When I was mounting the GPS the throttle cable was in the way a little. When I tried to move the cable it made a popping sound. It was the throttle cable casing coming out the the cable adjusting nut. When this happened the throttle couldn't close all the way and...
Anyone know where I can get an explanation of error code 84? The night before the first trip, of course. I was moving the throttle cable around by the handle bars trying to mount gps. I have a feeling the error code is for t.o.r.s. The throttle cable cover came out the adjusting nut down by...
Here is the wiring diagram for the battery. Does the positive and negative lead split? Maybe this is why you shouldn't charge from the jumper leads. What are the split cables going to? It looks like part of the cable goes to the battery casing itself. Any thoughts? Probably should get off...
